I'm starting to dislike this astros team

not for the losing- any organization is due a bad year or two out of fourteen or so (since 92 I think 2000 was the only real clunker).

No- it's the lack of hustle, piss poor defense, poor decision making on the basepaths etc.

I hope the closed door meeting leads to some professionalism.

its odd when Biggio was asked who would be the next club house leader when he was gone he did not mention berkman oswalt or any of the usual suspects.. but hunter pence . this might have to do with how he is playing in the middle of the giant piece of shit knowns as this season..you are right they are making too many errors.. even allowing for the people playing out of poistions and in  different ones each day. they just dont seem to care

1.  What took you so long?  This team has not been an "Astros team " in any sense of the word to my thinking all season.

2.  I think the Biggio article, around the time of 3000, discussing the lessons Ashby and Doran gave him was rather telling.  Biggio has clearly identified, in public at least, that Hunter Pence is the guy he is passing his torch to.

I noticed that too. Pence has made mention of the help he's gotten too.

I like Backe's fire.  I still list his shout-out of Bonds as among my favorite Astro moments.  It knocked the giAnts off stride and contributed to the comeback that night....and a critical comeback that was.

Here's hoping he heals and brings a little of that spirit with him.
