Edmonds? Really?
« on: January 18, 2010, 02:54:42 pm »
Apparently the sexy, sexy bitch is imploring LaRussa for another shot at glory. I would love to see them waste a roster spot on him.

And, no, this is not an Onion link.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I'm actually sympathetic. It must be very difficult to give up playing, especially when one has played at such a high level. It seems a bit irrational and maybe even a little embarrassing for Edmonds to take such a flier, but very understandable in my opinion.

Even riding pine on a MLB roster is better than anything I'll ever do for a living.
He breezed him, one more time!

this would be terrible.  he'd hit .214 for the year as a fifth outfielder/pinch-hitter, but would somehow end up .927 with 11 game-winning or game-tying home runs against the Astros.

And four improbable diving catches.

I'm envisioning Sexy Bitch working an office job: preening and making routine tasks look hard.  He could sprain a shoulder making copies.

He sandbags every trip to an open elevator just enough to have to dive through the door as it closes.

I would pay cash money to see an elevator door close on a diving Jim Edmonds.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

The good news? Cardinals don't seem interested.
The bad news? Still in the division. Rosenthal says the Brewers are about to sign him.

Hopefully he and Braun will both strain their groins (coincidence?? you decide!) before every Brewers-Astros series.
