Tough start for Valverde in his first save opportunity with the Ticats:

Ouch. Three batters, three hits, including being greeted by a home run to tie.

I think that we parted with Mr. Valverde at the right time.

Thanks, Wade.

Thanks, Wade.

You two obviously didn't get the memo.  Wade is a bullpen tinkerer and is otherwise incompetent at his job.  Stay on point, people.

Well if I'm not mistaken, a team would need to have a lead at some point to even have a chance to blow a save.

Saying we got rid of one player at the right time because of a 3 game performance seems pretty silly.  It sounds ridiculous coming from the fan of a team that has yet to win agame.

Well, in the context of the long-term benefit of the team, I agree completely with Mr. Happy. Not that I think Valverde will do poorly this year; I'm sure he'll be very good. But the Astros, for where they are right now as an organization, it was absolutely the right time to let Valverde go and take the high draft picks. If you think that's ridiculous, then you're not paying attention.

Why do the Astros need to win a game before people can comment on the quality of personnel decisions?
