Root sucking up to the Yankee fans with a puff piece in the pregame. Really fucking annoying.
-
Keuchel brought his paint brush that first inning. Arod and tex K'd looking
-
If Warren fields Rasmus's grounder, he probably gets two. Now Tucker with an RBI double, goes to 3B on the throw home!

That was very solid hitting from Tucker
-
1-0 Astros after 2
-
Keuchel's Corner?
-
Ah, the old 3-U-U double-play.
-
Has anyone said why Carter's not in the lineup?
-
He was traded for Cole Hamels. The Phillies figured they needed some competition at 1B.
-
Has anyone said why Carter's not in the lineup?
Routine day off. I like austro's idea though
-
Jose with a leadoff double. Nice to see.
-
More baserunning errors. Anybody else think valbuena woulda been safe if he just slide in?
-
Wtf was Valbuena doing? Stopped five feet from the bag.

This team does a number of things reasonably well but I don't know that I can include base running on that list.
-
Did Valbuena get deked?
-
Rasmus with a sac fly to make it 2-0. Valbuena out on the play to end the inning. But at least they didn't waste that lead off double.
-
Did Valbuena get deked?
No, he had to make sure that run scores. I got no problem with that.
-

Yes. Not sure what he was thinking there. But generally, reaching a base gives you a much better chance of being safe than hovering 8 feet away from a base.

That was text book by Valbuena.
-
That was text book by Valbuena.
I realize that he was trying to draw the throw but it was comically unnecessary. Altuve had scored already and Valbuena had the bag easily. He gave them an out for no reason.

Yep, no way Beltran gets Altuve on a ball that deep.

Valbuena has to draw that throw. He can't let it go to the plate. Once he sees its cut, he has to make sure the run scores. I realize Texeira didn't throw to 2B right away, but Valbuena is making sure Altuve scores. The only way to fuck that up is to get thrown out before Altuve hits the plate. He HAS to make sure.
-
Springer is trying to hack his way out of the slump. Not good.
-
Bergman seems to have his head on straight.
-
These fuckers take a lot of close pitches with two strikes. Ring em up.
-
How many Ks is that for Keuchel? 11 or 7? Seems more like 11.
-
Bergman seems to have his head on straight.
Yeah, seems like a good guy.
-

Thought I heard 11.
-
That's 11. He's got ARod thrice already.
-
That's 11. He's got ARod thrice already.
Couldn't happen to a better guy.
-
Altuve's wheels seem to be fine. Infield single, stolen base, moves to 3B on the TE2.
-
Man o man. Valbuena missed a big time hanging change up.
-
Yeah, seems like a good guy.
He does, and I love that most of his responses seemed genuine. It's depressing to see a low-minors or newly-drafted kid who can only give the same stock, cliche answers that the majority of big leaguers have been trained to give, without giving any insights or specifics.
-
Couldn't happen to a better guy.
It could happen to Pujols. Not much better, but better.
-
Nice 2-out RBI by Gattis. 3-0 Astros.
-
Wee Willie Keeler would've approved.
-
Reassume surely likes to bunt. That's amusing.
-
Ashby may be right, the bunt may be the best hit against the shift.
-
Reassume surely likes to bunt. That's amusing.
Shit, I'll bet that Colby Reassume was available in our draft today, and I overlooked him.
-
Second throwing error of the inning puts runners on the corner with 2 out.
And that's all for Warren.
-
Shit, I'll bet that Colby Reassume was available in our draft today, and I overlooked him.
I'm always typing Reassume when I mean Rasmus. I got to quit that.
-
Ashby may be right, the bunt may be the best hit against the shift.
I would do it quite often, even work on it in the cages and such. Take your hits where and when you can however you can
-
I do like having Valbuena's glove and arm at 3B.
-
Interesting: the Rockets picked Dekker, the Wisconsin forward. Intriguing, even.
-

I'm so torn on valbuena. Defense is good, homers are nice but how long can we keep sending him and Carter out there with such low avg?
-
Great, an advertisement for a law firm.
-
Wow, Castro wasn't within two feet of that third strike.
-
Great, an advertisement for a law firm.
A "great" law firm
-
Great, an advertisement for a law firm.
nothing wrong with that, but I could have picked a better firm.
-
Great, an advertisement for a law firm.
It's a great international law firm, a great Texas law firm with offices all over the world.
-

Was he their top guy? I just remember a bunch of tall white guys out on the perimeter who could also drive.
-
nothing wrong with that, but I could have picked a better firm.
BAPIP, PECOTA, VORP & Eckstein?
-

Kaminsky was their top guy, but Dekker is good. Decent outside shooter, tough inside. I don't know if he'll really be able to cut it in the NBA, but I think the Rockets are as good a fit for him as anybody. He can run, and he's good in the transition game.
-
What a shitstain.
-
It's the debut of Keuchel's corner.
-
It's the debut of Keuchel's corner.
It's been so long since Hunter's Lodge. The Ghost of Pam strikes back.
-
More stellar base running by Springer.
-
nothing wrong with that, but I could have picked a better firm.
Colonel Jaworski was a great man.
-
BAPIP, PECOTA, VORP & Eckstein?
Of course not. I would have picked a great international law firm, a great Texas law firm with offices all over the world.
-
What a shitstain.
Dekker ain't THAT bad.
-
Dekker ain't THAT bad.
Rimshot.
-
Dekker ain't THAT bad.
I thought that was a philosophical comment on the nature of the universe. It was Chuck.
-
Correa has such a good arm
-
Keuchel at 99 pitches. I assume he'll be back out for the 9th.
Double for Altuve, 3 hits tonight. I hope he's about to go on one of his tears.
-
Don't look now but Altuve is starting to look like Altuve....
-
Altuve hot could make this team unbeatable.
-
Altuve with a double and takes a bag. Vintage Altuve.
-
Fuck it, that was worth it.
-
No, Luis. You were out.

I'm not completely sure he even touched the plate.
-
That was a good send by Pettis. Yanks made the play. But I like it.
-
"That's going to hurt for seconds." That was funny.
-
I'm not completely sure he even touched the plate.
I wasn't sure he touched third.
-
I wasn't sure he touched third.
It would have been funny to protest the play at the plate, win the protest, and then be called out on the appeal at third.
-
I was hoping for a little cleaner ending...
-
2-out single, followed by a walk keeps the Yanks alive.
-
That's got to be it for Keuchel.
-
Man, is there an older 3-4-5 than ARod-Texeira-Beltran?
-
A single loads the bases and brings the tying run to the plate. Keuchel battling now.
-
come on man!
-
That's got to be it for Keuchel.
Shows how much I know. Good for Hinch.
-
Gets a ground ball for the CGSO!
-
Whoo-Hoo!!!
-
Good for keuchel. Gutsy move by hinch.
-
Nice job all the way around...pitching, situational hitting, GameZone...pound the ol' Budsweiser.
-
Not only did he kick ass, he saved the pen after yesterday. He's so valuable.

A true ace
-
The command that Keuchel had on that two seamer that he was coming inside with on the right-handed hitters tonight was masterful. It was a thing of beauty.
