They are 1 game under .500 (20-21) and 8 games in back of the leaders.

The Good:

The Hitters:

The V-Stros are hitting .263 as a team which is tied for third best in the league. They are second in the league in OBP and OPS. They are first in runs, doubles and RBI’s. They are second walks taken.

Richard Garcia (19 year old / 2nd base) is second in the league in runs (32), tied for 5th in doubles (10), tied for 8th in triples (2), and tied for second in most walks (23). He is also tied for 8th in stolen bases with 9. His OBP of .460 is the 3rd best in the league, while his .459 slugging is the 8th best in the league. Combined, they give him the 3rd best OPS (.919). His .330 average ties him for 3rd highest.

Oscar Figueroa (20 year old / OF) is tied for third in runs scored (28), tied for 10th in hits (43), tied for second in doubles (12), tied for 8th in triples (2), tied for 4th in homers (4), and his the 6th most RBI (26). He is tied for second in total bases (74), and tied for 7th in most walks (19). His slugging average of .460 is 7th best.

Luis Alvarez (18 year old/ 1st baseman) is tied for 3rd in runs scored (28), is tied for 5th in doubles (10), is tied for 4th in homers (5), is 10th in RBI (23) and is tied for second most walks (23). His OBP of .466 is the second best, and his slugging of .548 is the best in the league. Combined, they put him at the top of the OPS rankings (1.014). His average is tied for 3rd best (.330).

Luis Sumoza (18 year old / 2nd baseman ) is tied for second most walks with 23.

Jose Lopez (17 year old / OF) is tied for 7th in runs scored (27)

Julio Torres (17 year old /OF) is tied for 7th most walks (19)

The Pitchers

The V-Stros pitchers continue to give up the hits, as you’ll see below, but they don’t give many free bases. They have given up the second fewest walks (116) and the 3rd lowest number of hit batters (36).

Carlos Quevedo (18 year old / RHP) has the 6th most innings pitched (43.2) and is tied for 7th most strike outs (34). His WHIP of 0.96 is good for 5th best in the league.

The Bad

The Hitters:

Strike outs are an issue for some of these guys as the V-Stros have 2 of the top 10 guys who strike out the most.

Julian Torres (17 yr old / OF) ranks 6th for most K’s (31).

Raymar Lopez (17 yr old/ SS) is tied for 8th most whiffs (29 Ks)

The Pitchers

The V-Stros pitchers have given up a league high 410 hits and are lucky to have the 4rd highest ERA (3.63). Their 220 runs are the second most surrendered but only 149 have been earned. They have only struck out 235 batters, which puts them at the bottom of the list. Their WHIP is tied for 3nd worst.
