Lexington Legends – OrangeWhoopass http://www.orangewhoopass.com Tue, 28 Apr 2009 04:08:44 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.6 April’s Good & Bad in Lexington http://www.orangewhoopass.com/2009/04/27/aprils-good-bad-in-lexington/ Tue, 28 Apr 2009 04:08:44 +0000 http://www.spikesnstars.com/?p=2816 April is drawing to a close and the Legends had an off day today so I took the chance to take a look at the stats and see where they stand.  Lexington is currently 10-8 and one game behind Charleston and Greeneville for the lead in the Sally League Southern Division.  This sums up their April.  Great pitching.  Poor hitting.

The Good

The Hitters:

As a team, there is not too much good on the offensive side of the Lexington Legends’ ledger.  The Legends are tied for 3rd in round trippers.  They have hit 10 so far this season.  That is the only place where they rank in the top 3 in any category. We can celebrate that their strike out totals have not been an issue.  They have the 4th lowest total of strike outs (126).

Individually, Ebert Rosario is tied for 8th with 6 doubles.

Phil Disher is tied for 5th most walks taken with 9.

The Pitching

Lexington is winning with pitching.  They currently rank 4th in ERA (2.84) and are tied for 3rd with 4 team shutouts.  They are tied for the league lead in saves (7).  Legends’ pitchers have only given up 119 hits, 54 runs and have a team WHIP of 1.14 all of which are the 3rd fewest.  They have given up 46 earned runs which is the good for 4th fewest in the league.

Brad Dydalewicz is tied for the league lead in ERA with 0.00  through his first 3 starts. He also has the second lowest WHIP (0.71) .

Kyle Greenwalt has the 8th best ERA (1.06) and the 4th lowest WHIP (0.76).

Daniel Meszaros is tied for the league lead in saves (6).

Jordan Lyles is tied for 10th most strike outs with 20.

Henry Villar leads the league in most holds with 4.

Patrick Urcfitz is tied for 5th with 2 holds.

The Bad

The Hitters

The Legends are near the bottom of the league in many categories.  Their average is .212 and is the worst in the 14 team Sally League.  Their OBP (.284) and their hits (110) are both second from the bottoms.

Jay Austin (4- Tie for 1st)  and Brandon Barnes (3 – tie for 5th ) are both near the league lead in number of times caught stealing.

The Pitchers

Brain Wabick has surrened 11 earned runs.  This ties him for 8th most in the league.  He has given those up in 8 1/3 IP.

Jordan Lyles leads the league in plunks with 5 hit batsmen.

Ross Seaton has hit 3 batters which ties him for 3rd most.
