He had to go - he knew what he was talking about and could say it in a clear, easily understood manner.  That obviously stuck out like a sore thumb.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Too bad, now I have to hear more from Kruk and Phillips, both of whom I think have their heads up their butts... And Phillips still preens around like he wasn't a total tool as a GM.

Seems rather sudden which should indicate he did SOMETHING, right?

During the All-Star break, I heard Phillips say sarcastically, in referrence to his tenure as Chief Goddamn  Met's Tool, "some people think the only thing I ever got right was drafting David Wright." Remove the sarcasm and the "some people think" part of the quote and he pretty much nails his assessment.

Yeah, maybe what he did will come out in the wash.  Sure sucks though.  Maybe he can find a place with XM.

Of course, if reports out of Toronto are to be believed, he tried to trade Wright for Cheo Jr...Jays turned it down.

That really sucks. He was by far my favorite on BBTN, and I really enjoyed his work at the CWS each year. I hope he resurfaces at Fox, as the network could use some new blood during its playoff broadcasts.

Of course, I think Kruk and others are terrible, too.

God, do you all remember those mind numbing mock GM conferences Phillips did during the off season?  I don?t think I will ever see a larger bucket of shit. I can't stand his smug attitude, I just want someone to punch him in the stomach.

Since I don't have ESPN but I do have XM, I'd like that. Really, though, Harold is too good looking for radio. He needs to be seen. Charlie Steiner is perfect for XM, and I really enjoy his show.

I think Pete Townshend also used the "porn as research" rationale. But that was another matter entirely.

Maybe Reynolds was trying to expense all those fancy suits?

Well, I would imagine we'd have differing degrees of appreciation at his ability to reference Huston Street 3-4 times in a UNC-Clemson matchup.. but I thought in general his CWS work has been pretty weak over the years, and was easily outclassed by Karros.  Hope he lands on his feet somewhere else though.

I always enjoyed his analysis of kid's fundamentals and how he'd demo that with film, "I've been watching so and so in batting practice," or "I've watched him take infield in practice or during this game, and here's what I like about this kid..." adding his own demo to the piece.

However, when it comes to his analysis during the game, he has a tendency to sound bored or write off the other team before he should...that's one of those things that come back to bite you in the ass at times in THAT job.

HR was the best former ball player they had as an analyst on baseball tonight.  I will miss him (or would if I ever watched BBTN lately).  Must have been for off the field reasons I would bet.

Ugh!  Karros was horrible.  Like Jeff Torberg (the single worst color man in the history of organized ball) terrible.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Worse than Al Derogatis, the NBC broadcaster who could be covering a Chargers-Chiefs game and somehow manage to break into, "That was a fine pass from Dawson to Taylor, but you can't say enough about the Miami Dolphins!"?

Deadspin says it was repeated instances of sexual harrassment, after repeated warnings from his higher-ups:

the chatter in Bristol is: Everyone is hearing sexual harassment. Every single email we've received from the inside about this today has used those very two words.

Harold better be careful, or he may find himself someday hearing Willie, whether by Bacon or someone more real, tell him "he don't know nuthin'" and then tell (or worse SHOW) him the disturbing reason why.

This Kevin Bacon/MJ commercials just give me the friggin' creeps...you?  Guess we've eliminated the need for a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon separation on THOSE two, huh?

Not really, Alkie. You'd be surprised. But most of the guys you think are going to be assholes usually are.

Back when CNN Sports actually existed and was good, those guys were all class acts. I never worked at ESPN but I have heard that many people who work there are extremely unhappy and it's been that way for a long time.

HR was cool. I'll miss his man-love for the 'Horns, even when we're not in the CWS.

It appears it was sexual harrassment after all.

"It was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told the Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."

Depends on what the discretion is.  Like you said, dropping your pants and waving your junk in the face of a co-worker would definitely qualify as hostile workplace harrassment.

There was probably a history.  Unless he hugged her cooter or something.
