The way I look at it, we've been blessed by the BBG by giving us more exciting palyoff baseball.  Oswalt vs Mulder should be a great matchup.  Roy was nails in his last start.  Bully will be fresh.

Right on.  The Cards didn't give up, and they were down to a single out.  You had better believe that the 'Stros are not about to do fatalistic on us when we've got potentially two full games to eke out the W.

Yes, but it could even be sweeter if Clemens won in seven and also dotted a few guys on his way out.  And then Lidge strikes out Pooholes to end it all.

And not one fan nor media nor player for the Co-ards can say that they lost because of an umpire.  That excuse is long gone now and so is the "we're walking wounded".  All those excuses were in vogue as of tonight and ready to be tossed at this series as reasons why an inferior team like Houston beat St. Louis.

No. More.

Strong first offering.  Welcome to the clique.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

There you go. That's more fucking like it.

Do you see that post? THAT POST RIGHT THERE? If you're going to crawl out of the woodwork late in the game, that's exactly how it's done. My faith in Clarks is wholly and completely restored.

Normally I avoid all forms of media after an Astros loss, especially one of this magnitude.  Not this time.  I forced myself to watch every damn Pujols highlight every damn time it came on. (Is it just me, or does he look like that Nazi dude stepping over a cowering Uphman after stabbing Mellish?)

I also subjected myself to radio updates every 20 minutes for about 4 hours yesterday evening, all featuring Pujol's blast.
I am now innoculated against anything the Jakes can bring.

If someone told you on May 24th that the Astros would be playing Game 6 against the Jakes with a 3-2 series lead and a fully rested Roy and Rajah in the wings, would you take it?  Hell yes.  Go Astros.  Drop the soupbone.

Das: I don't remember ever hearing of a storm going from Cat 1 to Cat 5 in less than a day (and maybe it really went from mildly organized TS to Cat 5 in less than 24 hours?).  Am I just not paying attention, or is this truly exceptional?

Utterly unprecendented.  60mph TS to 175mph Cat5 storm in 26 hours.  The physics involved were unbeleivable.  The eye was as small at 4mi in diameter at times.  That means the storm cells were circling an area the size of the Houston Central Business District every 4min25sec.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

It may be a cliche, I'm reminded of something my grandmother used to tell me:

"When life hands you a lemon, you take our your sharpest kitchen knife and cut the eyeballs out of your enemey, squeeze the juice from the lemon into the bleeding sockets until the screams hurt your ears.  Then you stuff the lemon in their mouth to quiet them up and kick them in the nuts."

Perhaps, but I and others frequently cite the following line from that great 20th Century philosopher, Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair:
