Honestly,
« on: October 01, 2005, 12:02:51 am »
I don't think I'd be nearly this emotional about this if I didn't lose $7.50 per ticket per game to TicketMaster for some sort of "non-refundable convenience fee" for two games that will never happen now.

Goddammit.

At least I guess I save $180 in gas driving across the state.

It's the Cubs, ladies.  They have a losing record, and they're at our place.  Show some sack tomorrow, eh?

I hate the Cubs.

I feel your pain. There is nothing convenient about obsolete tickets.

I'm kind of freaking out about last night. I can't fathom less than a playoff on Monday. The Cubs live to beat the Astros while the Nationals lay out for the Phillies like a cheap plastic tarp in an abattior. Still, I'm glad Roger and Roy are taking the mound these last two games instead of Wandy and Zeke.

Boy, no shit.

Let's be completely honest.  Rocket has looked totally mortal the last month and even if Roy wins, we're still looking at a one-game in Philly.  I hope Patterson throws a fucking no-hitter in WSH, because the Phils seem to have figured out how to win again.

You'll excuse me if I don't feel so good this morning.

Heard Roger being interviewed on the radio yesterday, he hopes the leg is going to feel fine.  Maybe he hurt the leg kicking some ass for not scoring any runs when he pitches.

Last year, in the NLCS, when we went to StL with one to win and Rocket in Game Seven against a Suppan we'd beaten, what, six times already last year, I was positive we were going to the Series.

I have to say, and not because I'm a "are-you-gonna-drink-that?"-glass-is-not-finished-yet-kind-of-guy, I don't feel good about this.  We should've taken care of business the last 2 night and didn't.  The Gods don't like that shit.

You are correct, sir.  They don't like it one bit.
Lighten up, Francis.

Astros got dribbled to death last night.  Every Cub grounder was just out of reach of the infiled, while the Astros hit "lasers" right at people.  It was particularly pronounced in the late innings.  The only hard hit shot they had was Michael Fucking Barrett's bullet off the scoreboard in left, and even that took a stupid ricochet so that it hung in the air for precious seconds while sCrubs were taking extra bases.

That loss was all BBGs.

Today, I am going.  Same seats I was in for Game #5.  Same host.

Now, if I can only remember what I was wearing...

Very annoying game, that started with the Phils putting up 4.  Forced a tie at worst for the WC in the end.  Glad I could lend some karma.
