By the way, since Navin wants to play, if he doesn't end up replacing a former owner who is understandably intimidated by our collective fantasy acumen, I'm happy to open it up to two new managers. Mainly because I spent most of last year feeling like I had too many good players and found myself wishing we could water the league down some.

But really, I'd be happy to add more owners if it comes to that.

Second chuck’s motion if the bench size is cut down. It’s already too big. You fantasy mavens hoard multiple TEs and kickers.

I find that Chuck aand I share common ground on this issue. Who'd a thunk it? Expansion I think is a good idea.

I have no problem with expansion, so Mark and Navin can both play.  Right now, I’m still waiting to hear from utastro and Nate if they want to play again.  Depending on their response, we will either have a 12 or 14 team league.  Either way, based on the reduced bench suggestions, I’m lowering ours from six to four.

Draft date/time options

Which date/time works better for you:

A) Monday, Aug. 26, at 8:30 p.m. central time
B) Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 8:30 p.m. central time
C) Monday, Sept. 2, at 8:30 p.m. central time

Also, if any of the times are an issue, feel free to propose a different time for any ofvthose dates.

Currently all 3 work for me.  I travel a fair bit for work so that could change, If Im unable to attend I have someone that will draft for me.  My preference would be one of the Monday dates, but I will find a way to make any of the days work.

Scoring question.   It says you get 6 points for a kick or punt return.   Is that just for your team defense, or if you have a WR that also returns kicks, would he get points for it?

Sounds good. You can probably get a guy like Gabbert in the 6th. Don't want to draft a qb too high.

The player would get the six points along with the Defense/Special Teams unit he plays for.

Also, I just went into the settings and made some adjustments for kickers and defenses.

For kickers, I removed negative points for missed field goals and extra points.  You just don’t get points if they miss. For defenses, I tweaked the points you get based on how many points they allow.  Shutouts are now worth 14, 1-6 =10 points, 7-13=7 points, 14-20=3 points, 21-27=0 points, 28-34=-3 points, 35 or more=-7 points

With low scoring games rare, I felt like rewarding defenses that do play really well that day is a good move.

I actually kind of liked my draft, so of course Yahoo gave me a lower grade than Hap’s robo picks

I am Hammond Eggs-perennial league doormat.

I made a robo pick because my DirecTV internet politely wet down about 45 minutes before the draft and stayed out until after midnight. Maybe the Gods intervened and saved me from myself.

I wouldn’t sweat it. The rating system shined praise on Sphinx’s draft and noted that his best pick was Eric Ebron. I am not down on Sphinx’s team but rating the best pick on highest rated team as the poster boy for touchdown regression whose QB retired 2 weeks before the season may suggest the robot is huffing paint thinner.

Robo got a D+. That seems unfair. Why shouldn't robo produce AN AVERAGE DRAFT?

Maybe it's meant to be relative and your fellow owners are all OUTSTANDING.

Yahoo was puzzled why I might have drafted Johnson who, as far as they're concerned, will languish on the bench in Cleveland.

HAHA, WRONG YOU ARE! HE WILL LANGUISH ON THE FIELD IN HOUSTON! HAHAHAHA!

I think the auto-writer/grader was saying that the gap between the average draft position of previous Yahoo Fantasy Football drafts (77) and when Ebron was selected in our draft (113) somehow made him the "best" pick. Anyway, I waived Ebron and picked up Delaney Walker today

This is exactly that, for instance my "best" pickup was listed as AJ Green and he might be a steal but he may also miss half the season

I never felt good about Cleveland's defense but all the research I looked at told me to pick them.  Or maybe Tennessee's a better team than I reckoned.

My draftbot (graded itself D+) garnered me around 86, but about five points too little.

Dream Crushers vs Navin, is the most point I've seen in a couple of years. 124.06 to 131.71. Tough for Dream Crushers to score that much and lose.

Half of this equation is related to the post about Barkley directly above.

My defense needs work. I'm leading the league in points allowed. SMH

No idea how this game is going to end but it's my Patriots D vs Fredia's Tom Brady and the D is kicking ass.  The Patriots have this game well in hand.  Brady just needs to hand off the next 20 snaps or so.

That feeling when you score the second most points in the league but also the second most points in your match up that week.  Amazing week for Austro.  His score almost lapped half the league.

I had three wide receivers go nutso, two TDs apiece, plus lots of yards. On any other day, if you'd told me that Lamar Jackson was going to pick up 40+ points for my opponent, I would have said "well, that's an L". I've had a very lucky season: when my opponent has had a good day, my team has had a good day, too, and for the most part when my team has had a lousy day, my opponent has had a down day, too.
