Victory celebration
« on: October 20, 2019, 10:18:30 am »
Finally getting to pop the champagne and smoke my victory cigar this morning.  A couple of days off then right back to the ol' salt mine.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I've been feeling under the weather since last Sunday's marathon where I got two hours of sleep...I only had a couple of Love Street to keep the vibe going, but some Nyquil and a good night's sleep, and I was ready this morning.  Morning is my favorite time for a cigar anyway.  Might as well be the victory kind.

I feel you there. The kids passed off a nasty cold to me a couple days ago, but its the postseason and you play through pain.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

If you enjoy watching the Yankees lose, might I suggest this video to you.

A decade of Yankee playoff failures set to Ace Frehley's Back in the New York Groove.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

After Saucer, dinner, and lots of highlights and conversation, Mark and I got to bed at our hotel at 3AM. His very frequent comments were “Did that just happen?” and “I cannot believe what I just saw.”
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I woke up at 6 AM and still couldn't believe it really happened.

The Twitterverse is still abuzz.
