Anybody worried?

There doesn't seem to be the McCullers/Morton/Peacock option this year as in '17. Who steps up if the usual reliables fall through?

You mean you don't get warm and fuzzy thinking about Miley coming out of the pen?

So young, those guys. Let's hope Springer and Correa and Alvarez all get going and make it academic. Some blowouts sure would be nice.

I'm not.

You don't have to win every game and the other team is in the same boat.

I don't know how worried I am either, but you have to gnaw on something and it's our only theoretical weakness. Plus I've been enduring a quiet panic all year over the Dodgers' penchant for come-from-behind walkiffs.

I'm not worried.  The Pressley/Harris/Osuna triumvirate is not likely to carry an 8-ish ERA through the post season.  More than likely, they will regress to their combined ~2.x-ish ERA that they showed in their 100+ appearances during the year, with a slight plus-up do to the quality of the post season competition.

In the same way, I would expect a 4-ish ERA from the rest of the pen.

Both of these are perfectly acceptable given the length of the starters and the offensive output that will likely be realized when is all said and done.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Harris is peaking at the right time. If he keeps it for as far as the Astros go, he might get a Tony Sipp contract.

OF COURSE I'm worried about the bullpen. It's the postseason, I'm worried to near death about everything!

My god! What if they stop hitting? It could happen, you know. WHAT IF THEY STOP HITTING?!!!! Oh fuck, what if somebody gets hurt then the other guy gets the fucking flu and the fucking HPU is fucking crazy??!!! IT. COULD. HAPPEN. Last night I could only watch the ninth in the reflection of a window because I'm too fuckin' nervous look at the TV straight on.

Jesus H. Christ on a pogo stick I'm a fucking basket case at this time of year and you want to know if I'm worried about the bullpen?

FUCK! where are my heart pills?

Great post. This place is consumed by “what if” anxiety.

There is no doubt a lot of that going around. And that is one of the things that makes fandom so great.

FUCK! where are my heart pills?

I just got an Apple Watch about a week ago, so now I have empirical data on just how much postseason baseball stresses me out.  Some heart rate measurements from Saturday night:

8-9pm: 96-112bpm
9-10pm: 108-118bpm
10-11pm: 112-130bpm
11pm-12am: 115-151bpm

When they won the World Series in 2017 I decided that I wouldn't let myself get so nervous during October games anymore.  I think I've failed.

Same boat, Waldo, and I simply cannot help it. Friday's game was brutal. I calmed down a little bit once they got some runs on the board, but those first few innings? Sheesh.

Saturday was a little easier because I had plenty of libations during the Texas game, and I got to meet our new puppy right before the game started. Nothing like an emotional support dog to assist with nerves.

Ditto. I'm real Zen about shit when it isn't happening and then I can't stop moving. Texifornia's comment about watching in a reflected window is just too perfect.

Then I find myself yelling at the window: "what the fuck are you running to third base for ?!!!"; a second later I'm all "oh yea, right...just cool down for fuck's sake!"

It's goddamn torture....only fun after a win.

Well, I got on a call at 11am that lasted until 10 minutes ago and I didn't even properly give myself time to get nervous.
