Seriously, man. If you can't bother to keep up with the long-standing norms and idioms of this site, you're the poster boy of the "read more, post less" overly-eager Clark ......

Nice rant, Ty!  Well done!!

Link?  I have seen the term used a few times w/o definition.  Can you find a link that defines it?

I couldn't.  No amount of reading - or searching - will produce unwritten definitions of "long-standing" (but unwritten) "norms and idioms of this site".  It's a little like a secret code.  Thanks to Bench - and JimR also - for looking for it in vain and to Astros Fan in Big D for pointing me in the direction of some of his examples.  If he survived being Cabrera'd, maybe I can.

For any "Guests" that may not know - if there are any - the "Snuffy" definition of "Cabrera" or "Cabrera'd" is "already posted somewhere".  I figured the RS firing was headline newsworthy, since it's an indication of the Astros progress toward "Taking it Back!", but it was posted here by the brave Astros Fan in Big D.

For future reference, has anyone, chronicled a list of the long-standing norms and idioms of this site?

"read more, post less"

These 4 words would have solved all of your problems.

See link above.

I don't know how you resisted re-posting the link as though it hadn't already been posted in this thread.

Annoyance level slightly higher than trolling level.

Man, that brings back some memories. Some are good.

I had completely forgotten about "Chop Tarts." That is so brilliant.

I did not look for it in vain. I did not look for it at all.

Found the link to F & W unless I have been Cabera'd already.

By the way:  Carbera is a Brave.  Or so I have been told.

TY, Duman.  I missed your post.

True.  I have thanked him.
No more essays!
Your post here helped.  BTW, I think my definition was in the neighborhood, so a zero feels a little harsh.

You still don’t get what he is telling you. Ty is trying to help. If you do not listen and learn, you will have a hard time. “Read more, post less” is excellent advice for everyone new, not only you.

In Dombrowski related news...I read this morning where the Sox owners did not show up for the press conference and made Alex Cora have to field questions about why his boss got sacked.  If true, that's a cowardly way to handle it.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

If true, I'm almost embarrassed for them. They owe the fans more than that.
