Need a win, boys
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

T1:

Springer, works the count full, and walks to leadoff the game
Altuve quickly down 0-2, then singles to LF, Springer to 2B
Bregman...takes two fastballs right down the middle...1-2...2-2 on a pitch in the dirt...chops down the 3B line, out 5-3, Springer to 3B, Altuve to 2B
Brantley...0-2...flies out to deep CF, Springer tags and scores on the sac fly, Altuve moves to 3B
Alvarez doubles over the RFers head...Altuve scores...Rangers challenging play at 2B, ball beat him, but Andrus simply never tags him, upheld, it's a double
Gurriel flies out F7 right up against the wall

2-0 Astros

At some point, the opposition is going to quit pitching to Alvarez. Tough to pitch around him while he is hitting in front of Gurriel.

B3:

Mathis grounds out 4-3
Choo grounds routinely to 2B...Altuve boots it...E4
Santana grounds a perfect double play ball to SS, Bregman boots it...E6, Choo goes to 3B
Santana steals 2B
Andrus...3-0...3-1...walks
Mazara flies out to shallow CF, Springer catches it on the run, makes a perfect throw to the plate, but Stassi can't hang on as Choo scores, ball rolls to the dugout, and Santana scores too...E2...or TE9...not sure how they scored it...Andrus to 3B
Gallo strikes out swinging

Rangers don't get a hit, but managed to score twice...lead 4-3 now.

Altuve stretched a single into an easy out.

Bregman of course homered.

No more baserunners.

Game tied at 4.

Deshields homers to left
Mathis 4-3 (shift, fielded up the middle)
Choo hit by an 0-2 pitch, actually catches the ball with his elbow/side

Bregman's likely would have been a double play erasing Altuve's gaffe.

Not sure what you mean by "lunges", but that ball was smoked on line.

I wonder if Osuna decides before the pitch to do that little hesitation or if it's more organic

These Rangers are not nearly as bad as everyone thought they'd be.

Their team offense numbers are at the top of the league.  They're not as good on the road,  and their pitching depth is poor.

But as HH pointed out, they've got power upand down their lineup,  and Choo/Andrus are both tough outs who set the table for Gallo.

In other years with a more competitive league,  they'd be closer to or just below .500.   But they've got a sluggers chance in every game.

It felt like it took a few seconds after Marisnick's catch for the players - and us fans - to believe it was actually the 3rd out (= game won!!!).

Oh, come on. You denigrate solo home runs? I hate the Rangers as much as anyone but calling them a bad team is ridiculous. They have a potent, powerful lineup, and they earned the 9-8 win when quitting would have been easy. Osuna was a million miles away from a “meltdown.” Hinch respects their hitters’ approach; most will not chase, and they hit the ball hard. So should you.

The Rangers are playing well, much better than last year when they had that cocksucker Banny spreading his negativity like a plague upon the clubhouse. They lost from their line-up last year Chirinos (replaced by Mathis and Federovitch) and Beltre (Cabrera and Forsythe).

They play in a shitty bandbox that is a wind tunnel. They put up a bunch of screen to combat the wind, but a tornado blew through a month ago and tore a bunch up and the lazy Southern Oklamhoma Fucks haven't fixed them yet. Coors at sea level.
