Let's get it on...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Just tuned in. Did Cavan strike out on a slider--low and away?

The Express sent me an email this afternoon that Altuve will be playing in Round Rock tonight. He's going to be busy, because I swear he's the understudy Alexander Hamilton in "Hamilton" down at UT right now.

B1:

Bregman walks
Brantley walks, Bregman to 2B
Gurriel...0-2...1-2...2-2...strikes out swinging
Alvarez singles to RF, Bregman to 3B, Brantley to 2B...hit it so hard Bregman couldn't score
Chirinos singles to RF...little bouncer right down the 1B line...Bregman scores, Brantley scores, Alvarez to 3B
Reddick flies out F7, Alvarez tags and scores...give Red Dog a sacrifice
White...full count...flies out F8...squared it up, but Grichuk ran it down over his head on the track

3-0 Astros

Was there a velo on the ball White hit?  Looked like he nutted it, but on a line right at Grichuk.  Good to see him drive a ball up the middle.

Well Josh stole second,  but overslid the bag.

By 18 inches.

BJs don't challenge.

Kemp promptly goes yard.

Maile is an excellent pitch framer. On balls slightly outside it seems by the time he closes his glove, it is within the zone.

He's not here tonight. So I said it for him.

Oh, I'm here. I just didn't want to upset Jim.

Any recs for Juneau?

Not hotels,  mind you.   I'd never be so crass as to defile the GZ in that way.

Not much in Juneau.  The Red Dog Saloon.

He got beat upstairs the other night. But I don't expect that to work long-term because I think his eye is good enough to lay off pitches that are up out of the zone. And if you bring it down into the zone, he's quick enough to get to it and powerful enough to drive it the opposite way.

Rent a car and drive around, bask in the splendor and temporarily forget you live in Dallas. Go to Hangar on the Wharf and eat fresh caught salmon or halibut. Go to the governors mansion and look at Russia.

He takes them. Working on hitting the hard stuff is on management’s likely agenda, but he will hit them too soon. Amazing patience for so young.  5-6 walks in four games?

Patience and knowledge of the strike zone. It will be interesting to see if Toronto will pitch to him at all.

And so quiet in the box. It's as if he can determine very early whether a pitch is worth bothering with.
