The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Betts lines out to 3B...hit it hard, but Bregman on the spot
Martinez with a bloop double right on the RF line...Reddick ran a long way and got a glove on it, but couldn't make a sliding catch
Moreland...0-2...1-2...2-2...flies out F7

Gurriel singles to CF
Diaz dribbles to 2B, picked up by Davis, who then drops it...Gurriel to 2B on the E4 which is now inexplicably ruled a hit
Chirinos strikes out looking...never swung the bat
Marisnick...0-2...1-2..wild pitch...Gurriel to 3B, Diaz to 2B...Jake battling...flies out F8

Three too many.

I remember he only had a few.  But he drove in like 9 runs on those three hits.

He was a 7th round pick, two time Astro.  Don't think he was an All-Star.  So cross him off the list.

Moreland...0-2...strikes out swinging as the ball went right by Chirinos, back the screen...never got a glove on it...bounces right back to Chirinos who throws to 1B to complete the strikeout.  That was bizarre.

B6:

Rondon in

Bogaerts...3-0...3-1...3-2...fouling off pitches...chops over the mound...Kemp charges, but can't make up his mind if he wants it or not...finally comes in and for some reason tries to barehand it and can't grab it...I'd rule it an E4, but I'm sure they'll rule it a hit
Devers strikes out swinging as Bogaerts steals 2B, his first of the season
Chavis...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging in the dirt...Chirinos blocks it, pounces on it and throws out Chavis at 1B, but Bogaerts to 3B on a wild pitch
Vazquez punches a single to RF, Bogaerts scores
Nunez grounds into FC, Vazquez out 6-4 at 2B

But a sloppy Astros inning means Sox lead 1-0

Rick Porcello is a middle of the road, shitty pitcher. The fact he is dominating the Astros is fucking embarrassing, and the fact that the Astros always suck against him is fucking infuriating.

Stanton in the lounge chair:  Rick Porcello has absolutely carved up the Astros with a 90 mph fastball.

Also frustrating that Cole could only get through 5 innings. At least he didn’t allow any runs.

Harris in...

Benintendi strikes out swinging...tried to check but he went around
Betts flies out F9 at the wall on the first pitch
Martinez...0-2...strikes out swinging

1-0 Sox

He had to work hard.  Lots of traffic every inning.  Never had a clean one.

T8:

Marisnick doubles to LF
Springer homers to RCF on the first pitch, Marisnick scores

And that's it for Porcello, Brasier in

Bregman flies out F7 on the first pitch
Brantley...3-0...3-1...walks
Brantley to 2B on a passed ball
Brantley to 3B on a wild pitch
Correa...full count...walks
Reddick...0-2...sac fly to shallow RF, Brantley tags and scores on a horrible four bounce throw from Martinez
Gurriel pops out F3

But the Astros score thrice...lead 3-1

Pressly in

Moreland strikes out looking
Bogaerts flies out F7 at the track on the first pitch
Devers chops up the 1B line, Pressly comes in fields it, falling into foul territory throws it over Devers's shoulder for the 1-3 putout...another blue star play!

3-1 Astros

Hembree in for the Sox

Chirinos...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging

To the bottom of the 9th...Astros up 3-1

Didn’t they used to run a commercial where a fan pulls up some quick stats, takes a seat at the stadium, puts his glove in the air, and a dinger flies right into it?

Anyway, that’s how this team’s positioning feels sometimes.

I emerged from the choir concert in time to see that the Astros had a 3-1 lead.

Got the app going as they showed the Pressly replay.  Wow.

Watched Osuna finish it as we chowed on cake in the cafeteria.

Enjoyed reviewing the TZ once we got home.

That throw on the sac fly from Martinez took its first hop on the dirt between 1st and 2nd.

That seemed to be set up perfectly for the defense.  Glad he snapped it.
