Astros at Tiggers, 5/13/19
« on: May 14, 2019, 06:18:45 pm »
Springer works his way back from 0-2 for walk
Bregman singles up the middle
Brantley pops to 3B
Correa crushes one to CF into the plants, and it’s 3-0 folks.

It's the 14th, by the way. Though the way things are going, we might be best served doing like HH and groundhogging Mother's Day.

Loved the centerfielder running back hoping to play a carom,  then just standing there.

Just an FYI...today is May 14th.  The guy who started last night's game thread is apparently a dumbass.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Diaz is a Cuban who was on the national team. He can play.

Love the call from the booth that the homer by Diaz was a Cuban Missile.

He was 4th in ROY voting 2016 after hitting .300 with 17 HRs. The Cards decided they wanted DeJong more and traded him to Toronto after the 2017 season for J.B.Woodman. Woodman is out of baseball. Toronto got Trent Thorton from the Astros, Thorton is 0-4.

Misplayed fly ball falls between Reddick and Springer and ruled a triple. Sac fly scores him and costs Miley an earned run.

Monster first half his rookie year and was an All Star, then some injury in the 2nd half limited him to 30 something games.

I knew he had some pop but I didn't expect this.  This Luhnow guy seems to be pretty smart.

There is no way that's a base hit.  Not in this league, not in Little League.  It's not even close.  Not in the universe of a base hit.  They have to change it.

Correa triples to the RF corner. He is just killing the ball to the opposite field.

And kudos to the broadcast.  They cut to a tight shot of George perfectly as he kicked it into high gear.

A good line Blummer had Sunday about Valdez always pitching with traffic on the bases was, "He should pitch with an  orange vest on."
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Just an FYI...today is May 14th.  The guy who started last night's game thread is apparently a dumbass.

A GZ on a streak respects thee streak. I think we have to keep backdating these.

I'd like to know what he was saying to Framber after that one.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

"THROW STRIKES!!"

Here's the play for those who missed it:

There is no way that's a base hit.  Not in this league, not in Little League.  It's not even close.  Not in the universe of a base hit.  They have to change it.

That “earned run” ended Miley’s streak of 3earned runs or less allowed at 24 games.
