Either Adrenalin or way different guns, but Martin did not approach 97-98 in RR.

Probably a some of both.  But mostly the former, I'd guess.

So far so good for Corbin.  The interviews with his mom and grandma made me tear up.

The 3-1 change up to Choo was the best pitch he threw that inning.  Turned that at bat around.

Hitters typically don't see the change from the off hand very well, it's hard to recognize.  It's very effective, especially when you can command it in fastball counts.

Arm speed is the key. It is totally a feel pitch. I could throw a good one, but it is difficult to coach unless the pitcher uses a special grip like Devo’s COD.

Correa singles to CF, Kemp scores...ball gets past Santana and Springer comes around to score as Correa moves to 3B on the 2-base E9
Reddick grounds out 4-3 on the first pitch

I know it's not over, but their defense in this series has been horrible.   Their team reminds me of the Astros teams we watched in the past, I just don't think they have the talent coming up the pipeline we fortunately had.  I'd almost feel bad for the team if the Rangers management wasn't such punks.

Good grief, I know it's not over.  I know Corbin has done well so far.

Hell, I'm surprised the Rangers are only 3 games below .500.  Their defense has been bad.  Really bad.

Damn Stassi is good receiver.  We can talk about the hole in his bat, but he is a damn good receiving catcher.

Good grief, I know it's not over.  I know Corbin has done well so far.

Hell, I'm surprised the Rangers are only 3 games below .500.  Their defense has been bad.  Really bad.

Hell, it's been dangerous.

That Rangers CF defense was pretty, pretty bad.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They sent Deshields to AAA.  And I don't think they have anything resembling a centerfielder on the 25 man roster.

Hell,  they've put Gallo out there.  He ain't slow,  but he ain't no centerfielder.

When they play the Arlingturds I take the opportunity to watch the game on the TV with the sound muted and listen to Ford/Sparks (only get Astros broadcast on the ipad or phone).

I will give credit to their director/producer.  They had several shots of Martin's family including that touching group hug.

Diaz has some Rangerian attributes, most notably a propensity for defensive blunders. We were lucky to get the transfer ruling and out at second.

Diaz doubles down the LF line, Reddick scores, Gurriel scores

Marisnick, pinch hitting for Brantley, strikes out swinging
White, who came in the game for Correa in the top of the inning, strikes out swinging on a weak check swing
Reddick strikes out looking

Valdez in

Mazara...0-2...strikes out swinging
Pence grounds out 6-3
Cabrera...full count...singles to CF...Springer dives for it, but can't come up with hit...good bid though

Devo in

Kiner-Falefa flies out F8 on the first pitch
Choo grounds out 4-3
Santana strikes out swinging at a pitch in the dirt, gets away from Stassi and Santana reaches on the wild pitch
Andrus homers to RF, Santana scores
Mazara...0-2...singles to RF
Pence flies out F7 on the first pitch

Astros win...fuck the Rangers

15-5 is the final

Sometimes I wonder if Devo thinks his 95 mph straight as a string fastball is his best pitch.

A contract similar to the Aaron Hicks extension should be a standing offer from the Astros. I’m sure George wants more.

Springer should laugh in Luhnow’s face at a Hicks offer.

They’re close to the same age. Hicks was a 5 win player last season and a 4 win player in 2017. Springer had 3 WAR in 2018 and 5 WAR in 2017. If last off-season tells us anything, it’s not to laugh at $80mm guaranteed when approaching 30 no matter what the situation. I’d pay George more than Hicks, but the comparable data point isn’t meaningless.

Right now, Springer is probably at the top of the leader board for AL MVP.

He and Trout share the AL lead with 2.5 fWAR, and the Angels suck again, so that’s a fair statement.

Bregman sits right behind them with 2.1.

That legitimately is the only thing that could've made that series better.
