After one inning...no score
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Springer leadoff single goes nowhere, Felix gets the next 3 and JV goes 1-2-3, both with a couple of Ks.

He looks good.  I miss the Felix that the Stros blasted out of the park in the first inning a couple of years ago.

Of all the guys Seattle got rid of this offseason, they really could have traded Haniger to anywhere outside our division.

twitter edit: Jose Altuve is the 4th player in #Astros history to homer in 5 straight games. Also Morgan Ensberg (6 in 2006), Carlos Beltran (2004) and Cliff Johnson (1975).

I like Mike Stanton, but he never shuts up.
He must have heard you, 'cause he didn't say anything for about 6 pitches.  Now he's talking again.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Maybe he's trying to get better at his craft and has listened to tapes of games he has worked and noticed how much he over analyzed things and is attempting to cut back. Maybe.

I don’t think Stanton is bad but he pales in comparison to Blum.

I would guess that Gordon AB cost JV a chance to pitch in the 7th.

May have been a longshot anyway.

Are we talking about the "hold 1 nostril closed, blow snot out, wipe nose on sleeve"?  That was a constant/common soccer move.  I know you're a gentleman of certain standing, but you were also a catcher, did you keep a handkerchief handy behind the plate?

I did that once. I should have gone first to third but had to stop and puke at second. It was a week after I took a bad hop off my nose and bled all over third. After the second incident the guys on the team started calling me "blood and guts," which I rather liked.
