Well we wasted that leadoff double.

Smyly hung a2 strike curve to Jake but he just missed the sweet spot.

He hit it hard, just right at someone.

The inability to hit with runners on base is maddening b

T3:

Altuve carved up looking at three curveballs. Arguing, but strike two and three were in the zone.
Bregman singles to LF on the first pitch.
Brantley pops out to shallow CF
Correa singles to LCF, Bregman to 2B
Gurriel flies out F8

Leave another pair. Astros up 1-0

Sitting behind home plate,  8th row,  behind left hand batters box.

Many Astros fans here.

Couldn't here what Altuve was saying but he was hot.

I've heard not swinging at pitches that bounce helps with that.

Astros win!
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I have to admit, with the way these two teams have started, I was afraid we were going to see on of the ass-kickings that we were regularly subjected to in Arlington a few years ago. Glad to see the good guys eke out a win.

Robby said in his post game interview that he was more nervous for his first AB tonight than he was for his first Major League AB.

He is growing on me too. Early returns say he is a good guy who likes where he is now.

It was discussed somewhere, perhaps here, that Altuve recommended him to Luhnow citing his "high character".
Seems like a good guy and doesn't have that Rangers taint on him.

That was my impression of him while he was in Arlington.

Footer had a niece article on his return.

Karma is a witch, or something like that, and Robinson Chirinos’ efforts in lifting the Astros over his old team are proof.

....he did seem pretty fired up after his double and after throwing out Odor, who said before the game he was going to steal two bases off Chirinos.

(Also) ,,,the Astros and Rangers sent everyone home in only 2 hours, 39 minutes. Pitching dominated the day, with Brad Peacock holding the Rangers to only two base runners.  The Rangers haven’t had that few base runners since July 7, 2007.

The Rangers two runners: 1 scored on HR and Odor was eliminated by Chirnos = no LOB.

Eliminating Odor was the play of the game.

In his AB he was ahead 2-0 and Peacock got him to ground sharply into the shift.   When Altuve couldn't come up with the ball cleanly to throw him out my buddy said what I was feeling: "uh oh.  This is bad."

Erasing Odor on the steal set things right in a hurry.
