I wasn't as much of a homer this year as I was last year.

It was hard for me to pick the Coogs to go the final four even though I had them going to the final eight. But I was shocked when I hear Jeff Van Gundy say he had the Coogs going to the final four. Maybe I should have been more of a homer. Van Gundy also had Texas Tech going to the final four. I have Tech being eliminated in the sweet sixteen.

I have Tx Tech getting to the final 4.  I have may have gone a bit upset crazy and it might come back to bite me.

I have my team (Auburn) going to the Sweet 16.  Don't see them getting past Kentucky.

Is there a way to see the other bracket picks?

I had Auburn initially going to the Sweet 16 but then went back and changed it to Kansas... and I hate Kansas and Bill Self. So that was hard for me to concede.  I may go back and look at Texas Tech some more. It may be worth my while to change them getting bumped by Michigan in the Sweet 16.

So if Texas Tech does get through Michigan in the Sweet Sixteen, then I see where their path to the final four is apparent. So now I have them in the final four and losing to Duke. Duke scares me because they've been the type of team that sometimes looks very powerful but plays below their talent in the tournament. So guess who I picked to win it all. Ugh! :)

I was just wondering.  I employ no strategy when picking.  I picked Syracuse because Daryl Johnston went to school there.

That is the sort of thing that I fear with the Dukies. They are just the type of team in the tournament to do that and it would destroy my bracket entirely.

Ole Miss is a team that could do it.  They beat Auburn twice this year.  Both times, everything they threw up went in.  One time, they hit 4 threes with 2 or less on the shot clock.  But then they go and lose to a bad Alabama team in the SEC tourney.  They are all over the place.

Well...at least all the ones I lost today were really close except for the 2 that weren't.

Why did the real Kansas (minus 2 players) decide to show up today?

Ja Morant is a joy to watch, glad they moved on.

I could not find it in me to root against the guy even though he single-handedly destroyed part of my bracket. When he turned on the after-burners somewhere in the middle of the first half I knew I was looking at someone who is very special indeed. Dang, I almost had them move pass the first round just because of him but decided Marquette would be a better overall team. I also had Nevada beating Florida because of the twins, Cody and Caleb. They did their best and a whistle at the end of the game (foul call that was not evident on the replay) pretty much sealed their fate... that and shooting desperate threes at the end that would not fall.

Hoping for a better day today.

They looked really, really good in the 2nd half.  Any team that relies on the 3 should be wary, because the Coog defense can completely take that away.  Ohio St has some size inside that could be problematic, especially if Brady gets in early foul trouble like he's been known to do.

I also just realized I forgot to go back and adjust my initial bracket before they got locked.

There is a no bigger idiot than me for picking Villanova to go to the Final Four. All the other three final four teams I've picked are still viable, but having Villanova not even make it to the sweet sixteen is a huge loss for me. Ugh!

The Big12 has been totally unpredictable all year.  You never know what team (Kansas, Iowa St, Kansas St, OU) will show up.  Tech is the only semi-constant.

Me too and I'm not sure how.  I'll be thrilled if the cougars make the final four even though that would mean I got oh like one wrong.

I have 12 of 16 left  but 3 of the 4 misses are from the same region.  My one team I got right is TN.  Hopefully they will keep winning as I have them in the final 4.

My South bracket is dead. As in, I got no one left in the South to rely on. Zero, Zilch, Nada. Ugh!

My Midwest is decent, with Houston and Kentucky holding the strong part of the bracket, but the problem there is that both of them are in the same region, so after the Sweet Sixteen, I have no one else in the region to go to the elite eight. Damn you Kansas... damn you to hell!

My East and West brackets are pristine and of course, I have Duke to win it all in the final four, so they must stay strong. Yesterday I thought that was the end of my bracket if they lost to CSF and of course I totally agree with Coach K... they got lucky at the end of the game. My West bracket now depends on Texas Tech to be very strong, even though they face Michigan. I also went out on a limb and picked Florida State to beat Gonzaga just because of their game last season in the same scenario. So bottom line, I need my East and West brackets to carry the day else my bracket is totally shot. I cannot depend on the South bracket for anything, it's dead and buried. Midwest is depending on Kentucky alone. Anything other than that and I'm dead and buried there too.

I am too. They came within an eyelash.

My Red Raiders are still in it. If they can beat the Zags they'll get to the Promised Land for the first time ever. If they win the next three, they'll change the name of the city from Lubbock to Beardville.

My bracket has five of the Elite Eight and three of the Final Four standing.

It was a great season. Always tough to end, especially when you feel like you can win any game you play, against anyone in the country. Been a long time since the Cougars have been able to say that.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Well, I got Tech and Auburn right but of course I had Duke and Tennessee in the final.  Hoping we get 3 more great games, it's anybody's tourney now with Auburn being the least-favorite only due to injury.  Tech-MSU will be a slugfest.

I lived in TN during his UT years.  What he did there wasn't that bad until he lied about it.  There will always be a slimy element to him and at times, he is his own worse enemy. But he is a great marketer and motivator.  This most recent run, I have seen great coaching as well.  In fact, it was a gear I wasn't sure he had.  I hope he can avoid self sabotage and enjoy his stay at Auburn.

That was a great national Championship game.    While I didn't pick either those teams in this bracket challenge, I managed to get Virginia in the Coke bracket challenge so I've won some some trinkets..  Have no idea what I win for them winning it all,    Anything would be nice..

I was rooting like hell for Tech.  The only thing that pissed me off (and I'm still angry) was what happened when Tech got the ball in a tie game with 12.9 seconds left.  Culver casually walks the ball up the court and launches what he hopes will be a game-winning three.  Get the ball in the lane and make something happen!!

And the missed free throw that would have ensured that the worst outcome was OT.

Oh yeah, there were several things the team could have executed earlier in the game to win the game.  I appreciated Pearl saying "Get over it" about the calls.

This run and the way things have been handled has rehabbed Pearls image a good bit.

On a side note, my daughter is in vet school at Auburn. Pearl and his wife are part owners of a doggie hotel in Auburn called the Grove Bark Inn.  He was scheduled to speak today at the Vet Business Management Club.  Friday, they club got an email that said, if we play on Monday, he will need to reschedule.  Since they didn't play on Monday, he was back in town and kept the appointment.  My daughter said they had a great turn out (175 to 200  vet students) and that he did a great job.
Always ready to go to a game.

Pearl has been on my shit list ever since the Deon Thomas saga between Iowa and Illinois many moons ago. I'm still skeptical, but I have to admit that has coached that Auburn team well and handled the loss admirably.
