Grey Worm and Brienne all but certain this week. Jorah, Tormund, Edd, Beric highly likely.

It's a show that constantly defies expectations!

Epic stuff, though a little more Hollywood and little less Martin.

The opinions on last night's episode appear to lean negative, and I get why, but I think it fit in with the show's general feel in a post-source material era. Benioff & Weiss have not shown that they have great storytelling chops - nor are they particularly strong writing dialogue - so the show works best as a spectacle, and in highlighting  individual character moments.

The spectacle was a bit muddied at time with the prevailing darkness, but the moments abounded:

Melisandre's fiery touch and the Dothraki Screamers charging into the darkness
Lyanna Mormont bringing down a giant
Sansa and Tyrion's shared hopelessness when all looked lost
Theon's and Jorah's deaths
Arya ninja-ing her way to the Night King

Some of it was silly, and at least 3-4 characters lived when they should have died, but it kept me on edge for the full 80+ minutes, and with both the music and several of the standout acting performances, I was satisfied.

Now what? A couple hundred survivors and two banged-up dragons are going to take down Cersei? That's a lot of plot armor.

It's hard for a swift conclusion to a decade of buildup to not feel underwhelming.  The parts of the episode that I could actually see were all enjoyable and suspenseful. The whole fighting retreat through the rooms of Winterfell was terrific.

They better send whatever troops that are still alive to Moat Cailin ASAP.

Finally got the see the episode... honestly I was laughing the absurdity of what happens. All over the place, just awful. I tried to like this episode, I wanted to like this episode.

Was Jorah outside the walls the whole time just waiting for Dany? It appears that every extra is dead, but about 2 or 3 named characters died? Arya gets past thousands of undead and about 15 Whites with none of them seeing her? Where did all the undead that surrounded Dany go when she fell off Drogon? What about all the undead who were literally less than 2 fucking feet from Jon on all sides, next time we see him  they are all in front of him. I plan on watching it again and taking notes, I bet I'll have 20+ "that makes no fucking sense" moments. God I use to love this show but that may be my least favorite episode outside of the shitiness that was season 5

I don't disagree with this view. I still it enjoyed it while I watched it though.

Glad I'm not the only one.  The depiction of the battle is a technical masterpiece, but story-wise it was barely plausible.

I feel like I did myself a disservice watching this and Endgame in the same day, because GOT really paled by comparison.

I haven't seen Endgame yet and I thought the episode was pretty fucking meh.

If anybody still thought we weren't getting a Hollywood ending, this episode shattered that. Virtually nobody died. The ending George RR Martin always dreamed of, because he just loves when all the main characters live at the end.

Goddamn. If there weren't only 2 episodes left, I'd quit watching at this point. The last vestiges of this show being good are only a memory. That was fucking awful.

People making dumb decisions that backfire spectacularly is a pretty basic aspect of the human condition, and a central theme of the show.  Or are people whining about logistics again?

Season 3 is often cited as the show’s high point.

Remember all those good decisions that Robb made in Season 3?

My biggest gripe was Surprise! Euron and his Invisible Fleet once again resetting the gamepieces out of nowhere.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I am whining about logistics again at least! Maybe if they took their time to show up at King's landing they would have remembered the big crossbows from the last battles they had with them.

Those scorpions are something else. Not only did they take down a dragon from a really far distance with perfect accuracy but they also obliterated Dany's fleet. Because apparently scorpions are better at destroying boats than cannons, or maybe Dany's boats are made out of plywood.

The only thing I know about the show is that apparently there is a Starbucks on every corner both in reality and fiction.
Goin' for a bus ride.
