Rogers on the major league team means that Astros' pitching is desperately thin.

Who would have thought you’d see both Martin and Rogers before Whitley this year?

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Rodgers has always been a Luhnow favorite.

How good has the pitching been?  Right now the highest ERA on the active pitching staff is Devo's 5.60.  Everyone else is 4.56 (James) or below.  All 5 current starters are below 4.00.

Rodgers was going to pitch tonight in RR. Express pitching has been bad lately.
I’m curious, where do you get this info? I used to get this from the game notes in the media section at their website, but they are a few days behind.  I’m trying to find out when Whitley is slated to throw.

Watching it live, and again on replays, I'm not sure how that wasn't worse.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Grade 3 sprain, likely 8-12 weeks.

From a friend. Whitley is throwing Thursday, I think.

It is also pretty easy to track the rotation on MILB.com -and they usually post probables early in the day.

Not always easy to have certainty, especially with the tandems..  When I went last week, I followed the prior weeks tandem scheduling.  Based on that progression, it would have been Whitley's tandem turn, but they used Urquidez in his debut, and pushed the Whitley tandem back a day.

And tonight, Milb has Sneed listed as a starter.  Well, he has been used in Tandem with Whitley, but Sneed started last tandem and only went 1.2, so if he is starting tonight, is he still in a tandem with Whitley (they usually alternate starting)?  I am going to assume that Whitley and Sneed are no longer in tandem and that Jim is correct that Whitley is going Thursday.

Anyways, you get the point.  If they would just keep their gamenotes up to date (they are presently three days behind), it would be easier.

Sneed tonight, Whitley tomorrow is what they said last night.

MLB Network just reported the Hinch expects Springer to go on the IL. "I'm not looking forward to the diagnosis" says Hinch.

Oy vey!
He breezed him, one more time!

He is having a good year. Theoretically he can play CF, but he is only average in the field, IMO.

I just recalled that they had at least put him there in 2017.

Yeah, he's been out there. He's fast, but I remember his first step being late and his routes being less than perfect. Maybe he's improved that over the last year.

I expect him to play when Marisnick doesn't and spell Reddick in right at times.
