I owe you an apology: I didn't follow the link. Now that I have gone back and taken a look, I realize that was a grave error on my part. And I thank you, because over the years I had lost track of where the "sexy, sexy bitch" bit came from, and you have hand-delivered it to me.

An essential bit of OWA lore.

And i would have missed it again if not for this.  Wow.

Brian McCann announced after the Braves' loss last night that he was retiring.  He had a good career, and was the right guy at the right time for the Astros.  I will always remember him fondly.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Agreed. He was an Astro.

Agreed.  I don't think we would have won without him.  It still blows my mind that he wasn't discussed at length in Astroball.

Or Morton. I’m still mad about that.

I understand that writers have to leave stuff out to advance the narrative,  but that was a glaring omission.

Overboard about Beltran at McCann’s expense.

McCann was a good Astro. He had a damn good career. His leadership was hard to miss if you paid attention.

Stroke of genius hire in my opinion.

Bahahahaha! The Dodgers wont care for long if he can't hit above the Mendoza line.

And it makes no sense that the Astros would know about a thyroid issue and choose not to treat it, thereby depressing White's value both to the Astros and to any potential trade partners.  If getting him to slim down was as easy as giving him some pills, they would've done it a long time ago.

Yes, the franchise who turned Josh James into a prospect once his sleep apnea got treated would certainly ignore this in a major leaguer.
