Listing Reddick’s 2012 Gold Glove is worse than 30 year olds still listing their high school GPA.

He almost got that first hit, just missed his glove.  I have faith in this team.

T1:

Betts singles up the middle on a 1-2 changeup
Benintendi grounds double play ball to 3B...no one there, shiftfuck single...Betts to 2B
Martinez doubles to RF, Betts scores, Benintendi to 3B
Bogaerts grounds out 6-3, Bentintendi scores, Martinez to 3B
Pearce...infield in...grounds out 4-3, Martinez holds at 3B
Nunez lines out to 2B

2-0 Sox

If we just went through the Keuchel inning, maybe we are in for a good outing overall.

HH, did you rattle the bats?

B1:

Springer whiffs at a pitch 2 feet off the plat
Altuve singles to LF...limping around the bag
Bregman...3-1...singles to LF, Altuve to 2B
Gurriel...0-2...chops to 3B..Nunez goes to 2B to get Bregman, but Yuli beats the rap at 1B, Altuve to 3B
Marwin...quickly 0-2 on curveballs in the dirt...1-2 on the same pitch...fastball stands him up to make it 2-2...singles to RF, Altuve scores, Gurriel to 3B
Reddick...quickly down 0-2...flies out F7

But the Astros cut the lead to 2-1

Gurriel has turned into an infield chopper machine, and Reddick a lazy fly ball to LF machine.

I had it at a very low volume but I muted it.  I couldn't take it.

But, I'm sure if you look hard enough, you can find crowd noise on the internet.

B3:

Springer singles to RF against the shift
Altuve grounds into FC, Springer out 5-4 at 2B...hit it hard, but nice backhand by Nunez
Bregman walks, Altuve to 2B
Gurriel chops to 3B, Nunez goes to 1B to get Yuli, Alutve to 3B, Bregman to 2B
Marwin flies out F7 on the first pitch

Astros leave another pair...trail 2-1

T5:

Betts...3-2...lines one off of Keuchel's glove, rolls right to Correa for the old 1-6-3
Benintendi...0-2...lines to SS, one hop knocks Correa down, who throws out Benintendi 6-3
Martinez grounds out 5-3

2-1 Sox

That ball took so long to get to the corner even gimpy Altuve could have pulled an anchor and still scored.

B5:

Kemp grounds out 3-1
Springer lines out to 1B  in the shift on the first pitch
Altuve...quickly 0-2..1-2...2-2...3-2...walks
Bregman grounds to 3B, Devers boots it, it rolls all the way into the LF corner, Altuve comes around to score, Bregman to 2B on the E5
Gurriel grounds out 6-3 on the first pitch

But the Astros tie it up 2-2

Radio guys mentioned a couple minutes ago that the Astros have yet to strikeout a batter.

Keuchel has one, I believe.

Hindsight and all that, but Keuchel only had 84 pitches through 5 and was getting outs.

He was not sharp save for his last inning.

Keuchel was lucky to make it through five only allowing two runs.  He wasn’t fooling Red Sox hitters.

T6:

Smith in

Bogaerts pops out F6 just behind the mound
Pearce homers to deep LF on hanging fastball on the inside half of the plate

That's it for Smith, Sipp in

Devers...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...walks
Kinsler...0-2...strikes out swinging, first strike out of the night
Vazquez grounds out 5-3 on a diving stop by Bregman

But Sox regain the lead 3-2

B6:

Marwin grounds out 4-3 on the first pitch
Reddick...quickly down 0-2...strikes out swinging at a pitch in his eyes a foot off the plate
Correa chops to 1B, off of Pearce's glove and it bounces towards 2B...scored a hit
McCann flies out F8

3-2 Sox

Brasier (RHP) pitching

Kemp takes ball 3 for strike 1, lines out to left
Springer takes ball 1 for strike 1, Ks swinging
Altuve drops a beautiful bunt for a single
Bregman goes 2-0, Altuve takes 2nd on a PB, 2-1, 3-1, flies out softly to CF

End 7

Well, I hope you're regretting your fucking instagram, Alex.

Um, Bregman has played well offensively and defensively tonight.  Not his fault Yuli has come up small behind him.

Offensively?  You mean his RBI "double?"  and the guy he was mocking basically went 6 innings with 1 ER allowed.

So far, the pitching hasn't been the problem in this game.  The offense took the wrong day off.

Not talking about the RBI “double.”  He had a single in the first and a walk in his 2nd plate appearance.   But, by all means blame his Instagram for the score right now.

I'm not blaming his instagram for the score.  I don't like that kind of shit talking/trolling and then not backing it up.  He had a chance to tie the game, and he didn't.  Don't get me wrong, I love the guy.  But that was just stupid.

So he happens to post the clip of the back to back to back HR off the pitcher that was starting the next game.  What do you think he had in mind?

good gravy, he did something stupid.  but he hasn't played bad.  it's hard for him to be a hero when the rest of the team isn't doing anything with the bat.

There’s another beautiful defensive play by Bregman.  About the third or fourth he’s made today.  He also was a part of all the pressure the Astros managed to put on Eovaldi.  How is that not backing it up?

He's played a great game defensively.  He's had a decent offensive night.  I'm just saying that shit is stupid.  And in the biggest clutch at bad, he failed.

Well that makes tomorrow a must win

I am beginning to get genuinely concerned about having to choose between Boston and LA in the World Series.

I’m at the game so can someone check my math... seems like Astros pitchers have had more 3-ball counts in this game than the rest of the postseason combined, and that the Red Sox did all their damage after falling behind 0-2 or 1-2 in the count. The latter is certainly true of all the batters that reached against Osuna.

Because four batters into the game you were down two runs.

And when the RS were on the ropes in the bottom of the 1st only one run crossed the plate. I was expecting some vaunting.

What a shit show of a performance by the Astros.

Altuve has been great.  2 for 3, a walk,  rbi, and a run scored going 1st to home.

All on a gimpy knee.

That should have sparked something.

But no.

It’s a real shame the Astros can’t hit at Minute Maid Park because...you know...they play their home games there.

The only good thing about the start time of that game is that there is enough time to work the pissed off out before going to sleep.

The series is not over because of this game.  However, Yuli needs to start making the Red Sox pay for pitching around Bregman tomorrow, or Hinch needs to move Marwin up and Yuli down a spot in the order.  Marwin again had good swings tonight, whereas Yuli is rolling over everything.
