Let's swing the fucking bats tonight, boys.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

And part of the problem last night was we didn't do the Friday Night Booze call.  I'm doing the Zacapa rum again.

High probability I'll activate the Worrell button and sync the TV with the radio broadcast.

Meanwhile,  let's kick these dipshits in the ass.

Looks like a lot of people with seats in the Diamond section forgot the game time.

Interesting strategy: terrify the batter with the first pitch then get the K.

Yes,  the smart play was to use it from the get go.

But listening to that crew for a little while is akin to seeing how bad the expired lunchmeat really smells.

Summer pils. Will adjust accordingly. I have a bottle of Whitehall Lane Pinot on standby. Whatever it takes to score some fucking runs, even if that means delving into the liquor cabinet later.

For those who have the Worrell button on, AJ Per-whatzit couldn't understand why the home run was 348 feel projected distance, since the wall says 315.

Even after it was explained to him that the ball went over the wall, it didn't hit the base of it, he still didn't get it.  He ain't the brightest bulb in the lamp.

Someone please explain that terrible swing on a 3-0 mediocre FB.

How can you be late on that?

I think there was a slight hesitation on whether or not he wanted to swing.  By then, it was too late.

That's just not being ready to hit.  If you have the green light 3-0, you're locked into a fastball out over the plate.  That's they only pitch you should be expecting.  He wasn't.

But he really thought it was prudent to half swing meekly at the slider off the outsider corner on 3-1 just to make sure he was loose enough to hack at the up and in fastball that would have been ball 4.

Peacock out, Sipp in

Herrera...0-2...1-2...grounds into FC, Merrifield out 5-4 at 2B, Altuve with a quick turn, but Herrera called safe...Hinch challenging, replay shows he's clearly out...yep, overturned...twin killing

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

If Marisnick doesn’t run for Yuli, there’s no reason to have him on the roster.

I think he's just fucking blind. The outside corner and bottom of the strike zone have fluctuated wildly all night. Guy has a dumpster fire of a strike zone.

B9:

Maurer in to try to close it out for the Royals

Correa takes ball one for a strike...takes ball two for a strike...1-2...whiffs at a slider in the dirt...had the bat taken right out of his hands
Gurriel takes a pitch 9 inches off the plate for strike two...1-2 on a strike...2-2...HPU has completely lost his fucking mind...singles to LF
Marisnick in to run for Gurriel
Reddick with a bloop single to CF, outfield so deep that Marisnick goes to 3B
Gattis flies out F7 on a diving catch by Gordon in LF, but Marisnick tags and scores to tie this fucker up!
Marwin walks, Reddick to 2B
McCann grounds one to RF, but with the shift, it's a 4-3

But new ballgame

B10:

Smith in for the Royals

Springer...3-0...3-1 on the corner...3-2 on the corner...takes strike three right down the middle...never took the bat off his shoulder
Bregman strikes out swinging
Altuve...2-0...hacks at ball three and fouls it off...3-1...walks
Correa grounds out 5-3...hit it hard, but right at Moustakas

still tied

Which you'd still rather have than Correa up...at least that's the conventional wisdom.  Correa is the last guy I want at the plate with the winning run on base.

If McCann bunts one down the 3B line, Marisnick might beat the throw home.

B11:

Marisnick grounds to SS, Escobar throws it in the dirt and Dozier can't handle it...Jake reaches on the TE6
Reddick with a sac bunt, out 3U, Marisnick to 2B
Gattis grounds out 5-3 on the first pitch
Marwin...3-0...now intentionally walked
McCann taps back to the mound

Astros leave a pair

To the 12th...

McHugh in...

Perez...3-0...swings at a pitch over his head to make it 3-1...3-2...strikes out looking
Mondesi strikes out swinging
Gordon strikes out swinging

3-3

Don't know what happened to my PBP, but...

B12:

Springer with a leadoff walk
Bregman flairs one just over 1B...nobody wants it...Springer to 2B...ball bobbled in RF...Springer to 3B and Bregman to 2B on the E3
Altuve intentionally walked to load the bases
Correa with a line drive single to RCD, Springer scores and the Astros walk it off 4-3!

So I was rewatching highlights this morning, and got to Gattis’s sac fly to tie it in the 9th. If Gordon lets that ball
drop, I don’t know that Marisnick scores and the Royals win that game. It wasn’t very deep and Marisnick was on 3B waiting to tag. Once Gordon left his feet he had no chance, but if he’s upright and fields that ball cleanly on a hop...of course then you’d have Marwin up with one out and the bases loaded, but you never know.
