3 zip after 1.

Gattis continues to produce with a sac fly RBI.

Astros went 8 for 11 against Blackburn.

Meanwhile in LA, there was a dustup on a play at home plate between Kemp and Chirinos.  Both ejected.

First thing I thought when I saw it: now what exactly does the Posey rule say?

Second thing was that I hope someone punched Joc Pederson

Yesterday Gattis achieved his career high with 5 rbi.

Tonight,  a sac fly, a 3 run dinger and a solo shot give him another 5 rbi might.

See ball. Smash ball.  Oso blanco esta en fuego.

Quite the turnaround for Captain Caveman since April.  Went from a DFA candidate to arguably the hottest hitter in the lineup.

Jake saves Guduan's bacon in the 8th, turning a HR into an 8-4-3 double play.

Reymin's eighth inning was a little shakey, but his ninth was a guduan.
He breezed him, one more time!

'17 Reddick.  McCann after that.  Then Peacock's slider.

Eh, not sure what the point is  Seems like premature gloating/I told you so.  Sure, anyone who said that Gattis should be released was wrong,  Correa did have the yips and might still in the future, and last time I saw DK, he looked pretty bad.

Yes. I am late on this one but I do want to put on record my admission of foolishness with respect to Gattis and officially recant.

Then hits one.

Some insights from the A's broadcast during the 9th inning last night:

...when Smolinski pitched the 9th, he became the 1st position player to ever pitch in a home game for Oakland.

...while the guys were ticked @ Marisnick's first pitch HR off Smolinski, shey shared that prior to last night's game the Astros were leading the league with seven 1st pitch HR during the last two weeks.  "That's the way they do business."

...they joked that there would probably be a small brawl at the bat rack during the 9th.
Nothing worthwhile comes without pain, ask any Astros fan.

Where were we wrong?  We wanted some bags. Kemp came up when Jake went down.  JD for Fisher.  Those two helped. 2 out 3 is pretty good.  And if you think the bullpen doesn't need help you might want to watch the games.  I'm glad Evan may have turned it around, he needed to turn it around.

Nothing wrong with fans wanting the team to perform better.  It's hard to let go of expectations they set in 2017.
