No score after three innings...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

B4:

Joyce strikes out looking
Lowrie flies out F9
Davis grounds in the hole to SS...Marwin fields it, makes a strong throw in plenty of time, but it pulls Yuli off the bag...ruled a hit, the first for the A's.
Olson...full count...flies out F7 at the track

No score

T5:

Stassi singles on a grounder up the middle
Fisher lines one to 1B on the first pitch...Olson knocks it down and takes it himself at the bag, Stassi to 2B...well struck ball right at em
Marisnick flies out F8 on the first pitch
Springer...gets in a hitter's count 3-1...slices one down the RF line, PIscotty makes a sliding catch into the wall

Still scoreless

I’ve not been paying an exorbitant amount of attention recently, but it’s odd to me that Smith and Harris continue to be used in marginless spots when McHugh and Peacock seem not to. (I recognize Peacock’s had some lousy luck with inherited runners recently.)

Anyway, glad it worked. All those guys and Hinch have bigger houses than me.

Different roles.  McHugh and Peacock typically used for longer outings where multiple innings might be required.

Peacock's been used in the 7-8-9 in close games, any reason why McHugh couldn't get that chance as well?

Given how scanty these opportunities have been (knocks on wood), why not uncork them in a game like today’s for six or nine outs?

Springer with a flair into LF for a single
Altuve singles to RF, Springer to 3B...Piscotty with a diving attempt, and manages to keep it in front of him
Altuve swipes 2B with no throw
Gurriel...infield in...full count...doubles down the LF line...Springer scores, Altuve scores
Bregman grounds out 6-3 on the first pitch
Gurriel tries to take 3B, easily thrown out 2-5.  Not sure what he was thinking there
Marwin...full count...strikes out swinging

Fisher has had much better at bats the last week to 10 days. He’s attacking more and not just watching fastballs go by to get in early holes. Huge home run today and no strikeouts! That is huge. If he will just reduce the strikeouts and put the ball in play he can be productive.

We need the Smith we thought we traded for.

ETA: didn’t Verlander give up Pollock’s triple, not Smith? I think so.
