looking to get the bats going.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Cano hammers an 0-2  pitch out for a 1-0 lead. Seems pretty insurmountable these days

Gurriel doubles to LF
Bregman grounds to 3B...Seager dives and stops it...bobbles it getting up, and throw in the dirt which gets away as Yuli goes to 3B...score it a single and TE5
Reddick grounds to 1B...first baseman looks home, hesitates and goes to 2B to get Bregman...Gurriel scores as Reddick reaches on the FC
Gattis singles up the middle, Reddick to 2B
McCann...full count...walks...Reddick to 3B, Gattis to 2B
Marisnick...infield back...works the count full...takes a meatball right down the middle for strike three
Springer strikes out swinging

Three hits, a walk, and an error...one run. Thud

At one point the musician got a gig doing music for adult videos (this is out of Champaign Illinois mind you), complete with his name in the credits.  His mom asks him if he hinks thats a good idea.  So he changes his name in the credits from Rob to Roberto and adds an 'evski' to the last name.

Both brothers are a treasure trove of funny stories.

I don’t know why Marisnick even bothers taking a bat to the plate. Odds of contact are pretty fucking low.

Agree that the top of the lineup is not close to living up to its responsibility and should be more accountable than the guy hitting 9th.

He's been so sharp tonight.

Now lets try this run scoring thing again.

Not exactly electrifying offense. 2 of the 4 batted balls never reached the infield dirt.

Going back to the Bregman tapper/FC, it was probably a hit and run and he probably just missed getting it hit behind the runner.

He's not combobulated at the plate.

Couldn't get a bunt down in a perfect situation for a struggling player to contribute.

Painful.

Astros no doubt considering sticking with this "more than 1 run scored per game" strategy.

Lance was great.  7 IP. 1 H. 1 R, 1 BB

Good outing on the road and pitching to a dangerous team. Hope this is the start of something sustaining for LMJ.

I see the game is being replayed today at 2 pm for those of us that may have not made it through the entirety.

I'm about ready to give up on Jake.

*Jake Marisnick: 0x4, 4 strikeouts. That's 24 strikeouts (and no walks) in 45 plate appearances. He got his 24th strikeout through 61 PAs last season, but also had a .914 OPS to go with it.

*lifted with no shame from Astroscounty

It didn't register with me til now that Lance only gave up one hit, and that pitch wasn't a big mistake.  Hitting a homer to center on that pitch was pretty impressive by Cano.

Blum was saying Lance used his change in the Twin City debacle (which I didn't see), but it was pretty effective last night for him, at least during the innings I saw.

He's not doing himself any favors with the exaggerated tantrum after every called third strike.  By his fourth at-bat last night, a better hitter would have been fully aware that the high strike had been called all night.

The sad thing is, that wasn't even really a "high strike" it was up in the zone but it was squarely in the zone
