Case Keenum will never make it as an NFL quarterback. What? Eh? Oh.

What a finish. Came back twice.

We live in a world where either Case Keenum or Nick Foles will be QB1 for the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Patriots got the rub of the refs...again...as they cruised past the Titans.  Now, the Titans weren't good enough anyway, but it has got to be demoralizing when so many calls go against you early on when the game is close, allowing the Pats to put on a comfortable lead by the end of the first half.  Notably a non-existent illegal contact stopped a promising Titans drive when the game was tied, and then the Pats were gifted a crucial penalty for yards and a 1st down when backed up against their goal line for encroachment that was in actuality a false start.  There were plenty of other weird ones - including a false start called on a WR going in motion - and every single 50/50 came up Pats.

If this was just on game, you'd say that it's just football, and move on.  But this is week in, week out; the more important the game, the more glaring the help.

So having had to shower repeatedly after rooting for the Titans, I now have to root (pointlessly) for the Jags?  Thanks, blue!

If Case doesn't connect with Diggs, you'd be looking at two Austin Westlake High School kids quarterbacking in the NFC Championship. Wonder if that has ever happened?.

If Blake Bortles plays like he did in his last game against the Texans, the Jags might have a chance of keeping it close.

I like the Jags matchup, at least on the defensive side. They should be able to get pressure on Brady without blitzing, and he's not nearly as good when he's having to move around and still try to find open guys against a full defensive backfield. And the Jags have good corners, too. As usual, Gronk is the issue.

I too will be rooting vociferously for the Jags and Vikings today.  I especially want to see Case Keenum do well.  He's a great guy, and I can only imagine what a thrill it is for him.  I hope he does well.

This is by some distance my favorite weekend of the season. The only other one that's in the same time zone is maybe the season's first weekend.

Me too. I hopped full on the Vikings' bandwagon on Thanksgiving Day when they beat the Lions. I was already a Keenum fan. I'm very strongly pulling for the Jags too.

Mine too.  I enjoy the conference championship games much more than the Super Bowl.

The entire second half had an air of inevitability that that was depressing.

Go Vikes!

That was the exact opposite of the results I (and I suspect most of America) wanted.  Two detestable teams in the SuperBowl.

I don't find the Eagles detestable, I was just rooting for the Vikings.  Nick Foles seems like a decent fellow.

Perhaps I should clarify, the Eagles fans are detestable; I have nothing against any of the players or management.

Might want to rethink the RM thing, at least this year.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

While I have historically been an Eagles detester, my significant other is Philly through and through. I told her that I would back the Eagles so that we both could have a championship to celebrate this year.

It's not easy.

Well, you know what I mean. If I'm going to go total bandwagon it should be fluid. I'll go with Barca until RM signs Neymar. Or I could go with Bayern Munich. I don't think they've lost a game since 2011.

The Jags are going to be good for a while. They'll be back.

I'm sure they will but ideally I won't find myself having to root for them again any time soon.

God help the league if the Jags find a competent QB.

The Vikings have four QBs:  Keenum, Bradford, Bridgewater and a rookie.  Only the rookie is under contract for 2018.

NFC Championship game aside, Keenum may have earned some suitors.  I'm not sure the other two qualify under your competency test.

I wouldn't be surprised if Keenum is the least sought after of the three.

Presumably the Vikes will keep one of the three, so they will throw off two functional QBs.

Also, how many QBs do the Texans have?  They will be all fit again for next season, and we're keeping Watson plus 1 other, so there's another couple of game-experienced QBs on the market from here too.

I love Keenum probably way more than most people on the street.  But this idea that he's been held back because no one in the NFL can evaluate talent just boggles my mind.  I see it constantly on the UH groups and fan pages.  He was a great QB for the Cougars.  A great player, a great student, a great guy.  We're proud he represented our school.  I'm glad that he's managed to keep himself useful enough to hang around the league and finally got a shot to be the guy.  I was hoping he'd do well.  But he went undrafted for a reason.  He's bounced around to multiple teams for a reason.  He's not Tom Brady just waiting to happen.

Coogfans.com not a place to go for objectivity. I think Keenum has proven himself to be a better option than many of the so-called experts would ever give him credit for. Did he overachieve this year? I don't think so. He is certainly better than half the starters in the league. His record with a good team shows what he capable of. His record with the Rams and Texans show that he can't help a shitty team with bad coaching. The Viking QB situation will be interesting to watch play out.

Just to add to the misery that is a Pats-Eagles SuperBowl, NBC has made it clear that they will immolate Jack during the episode of This Is Us immediately following.  Presumably they'll be following that with a re-run of Old Yeller and the finale of MASH.
