Site issues
« on: November 27, 2017, 06:53:36 pm »
Is this site taking incredibly long to load for anyone else?   I have had trouble with it for about 3 days now.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Yes, at least for the index pages. Individual threads seem to load fine.

Good to know.  I figured I'd been banned.

I use Tapatalk to access the site and I too am having issues. Tapatalk is taking forever to load and when it does it says I'm not logged in. When I try to log in it says password isn't valid. When I pull out the old PC laptop, which I'm using now, the site is still slow but it does let me log in. The other forum I use on Tapatalk is working just fine, so it has to be an issue with OWA.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with the slowness but I'm looking into it.

Those of you with slowness issues - are you all on AT&T (wireless or home/business)?  Our host is apparently experiencing routing issues to/from AT&T networks.  I have AT&T at home and the site is slow as hell, but on Grande at work it seems to be better.

Maybe the site is mirroring how slow the Hot Stove season is so far.

Our host put in a temporary fix.  It's up to me to get a permanent one in place.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.  Some of us have offered donations.  I'm guessing the offer(s) still stand.  (The collective) we can probably offer user testing for real-time feedback as you make changes as well.  Just some thoughts....

Part of the reason we haven't accepted donations is because it really doesn't cost that much to run the site.  We did outgrow our current host a long time ago and have used bandaids to get by, and I've had another solution waiting in the wings, but this offseason will finally be the time to pull the trigger.  We'll be in good shape fairly soon.

AT&T U-Verse here. Still slow this evening. Windows10/Chrome on the client side, if that has any bearing on it.

I've split all the site slowness talk into a separate thread.  A permanent fix is on the way in the coming days.  The site many be unavailable at times.
