My dad and my 8-year-old son have watched this entire postseason together.   While I'm devastated that I haven't been able to join them for most of it, I can't imagine what a great memory it will be for both of them, win or lose.
We're all Astros fans.  Let's enjoy this team.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Is pre-game entertainment a new feature?

There’s some difference between Australian and New Zealand music, isn’t there?

Maybe not as much as you might think, you may be surprised at how many 'Aussie' entertainers are actually sheep shaggers.  The progression seems to be first make it in NZ, then Aus as the way to international success.

Better than watching this gibberish pre game show.

Normally, it's a dude restoring cabinets or a new shopping place in a suburb of Tokyo, but today they are trying to convince foreigners to come to some crummy tourist area in Shinjuku. Switched over to Jeopardy.

He passed on in 1989. He was a semi-pro player, 2nd base. I couldn’t do the athletic thing, so being a fan is the next best thing. I’ve thought of him a lot this month

They're watching too.

The real story is my dog went racing past me on the stairs and knocked my left let up, as I went to plant my right foot, it hit the edge of the step and my ankle turned pretty hard.

As Coach had to remind me in the ALCS...all you can do is put a good swing on it and hit it hard.  Keep it up, and they'll find a hole.

Did Bregman not get out of the box well? He's fast enough that if Seager kicks the ball 8 feet in front of him, he ought to beat it out.

The ball kicked in front of Seager so he had forward momentum on the throw. Any other direction and Bregman is probably safe.

Barnes
strike, fouled off McCann's mask, ball outside (I guess), changeup fouled back, grounded right to Altuve, 4 -3, 1 out.

Not real rain. Just the "Marine Layer" coming in for the evening.

Kate Upton has a rainbow jacket and a clapper from MMPUS.

I literally love her almost as much as I love Justin Verlander.

Bellinger
Ball inside, strike looking, fouled off 96, strike swinging  on 97 MPH heat inside.   Have a seat meat!   3 outs!

After 4, Astros 1, Dodgers 0

I'm no baseball coach, but does it look like Reddick is pulling away from the plate on his swing instead of swinging through it?  It looks like he's giving up the outside part of the plate.

The crowd is acting shocked the Roberts is going to the pen early.  Have they SEEN any part of the series?

I'm no baseball coach, but does it look like Reddick is pulling away from the plate on his swing instead of swinging through it?  It looks like he's giving up the outside part of the plate.

Yes, he’s pulling off the ball big time right now.  Hinch has to think about going to Maybin.

It looked to me like he was trying to pull that one. He had to know the curve was coming, seems like his best bet by far is to try to take it to left.

T5, 1 - 0, 2 outs, bases loaded.

That's it for Hill,
Brandon Morrow pitches to
Bregman
foul, grounded to short, 6 -3. 3 outs.

1 - 0

Puig,
first pitch flied to right, Reddick catches it just shy of the track.  1 out.   Verlander at 59 pitches.

Reddick is a hole.

Key pitch in that AB was the 3-0 FB.  Placed it carefully in the right spot,  would have settled for a walk. Instead he got to 2 strikes and threw a good curve.

I thought about that, but with Verlander an automatic out coming up, you want to give yourself a better chance than McCann beating a throw to the plate.

7) Forsythe,
strike, ball just outside, ball just outside, foul, just fouled down third, ball just low and outside, 3 -2, strike swinging at 96 mph heat.   Have a seat meat!   3 outs!

Right, but that AB occurred in the postseason. You said he hadn’t done it all postseason. He’s obviously in a funk now and not taking good cuts, but we don’t need to overstate it and forget his contributions.

Right, but that AB occurred in the postseason. You said he hadn’t done it all postseason. He’s obviously in a funk now and not taking good cuts, but we don’t need to overstate it and forget his contributions.

I feel like this postseason has been similar to his regular season. He doesn't seem too far off when he's "off" and it seems that every close call goes against him. Plus pitchers seem to make pretty damn good pitches against him.

Second year in a row we haven't had a single kid.  For such a residential neighborhood, not a lot of foot traffic around here.

We had about 10-15 groups.  About normal, which is surprising with the rain.  Those who came cashed in because we had a LOT of candy and I thought there would be few kids.

Double switch, not sure who's going to play in the field for Forsythe,  Watson goes into his spot in the lineup.

Morrow done, Watson in to pitch to McCann..

My point is meant that when he went to the opposite field he delivered hits a couple of times. He  is back to trying to pull everything and pulling off the ball. Not minimizing his contributions.

 strikes early make hitters defensive.

Altuve is fine.

Meanwhile Roberts takes out a guy who has thrown nothing but strikes including a nasty slider to K Correa.

Maybe he's determined to keep sending in pitchers until we jump on one.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Situational hitting

 I'll take it.

Not way that second run wasn't coming in this inning

Now please keep it there.

B6 1 -2, 1 out, man on 3rd

Turner
foul, strike 2 swinging, defensive foul, popped up into foul territory, Yuli gloves it.  2 outs.

Now you're trailing and have only 9 outs to work with.  Probably pinch hit for Verlander next inning.

If you pinch hit for him, you have to score a whole lot more than two runs.

If Reddick gets on it's a no brainer you hit for JV.  You cannot afford to concede one of your last few outs.

B6, 1 - 2, 2 outs, man on 3rd

Bellinger,
ball high and away, strike swinging (96), fouled back 97, struck him out on 97 heat outside.   3 outs.

After 6, Astros 1, Dodgers 2.

Let him bunt.  He’s more valuable pitching than a pinch hitter is hitting.

For fuck's sake!  That 2-0 to Gattis was NOWHERE near the plate.

Announcers have been saying that Gattis is vulnerable to the FB up but it's just not true.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

T7, 0 out, man on 1st

Gattis,
ball down and out, ball down, strike called off the outside edge, strike 2 swinging,  grounded to short, can't turn the double play.     Reddick is out on the fielders choice.   1 out.
