T1 of Game 5

Dallas Keuchel pitches to
Taylor
strike at the knees, check swing on the curve down, ball down (can hear HPU pretty clearly),  single up the middle

T1 of Game 5, no outs, man on 1st

HPU is Bill Miller.   I know nothing about him which probably means he's good.

Seager
foul, foul, ball outside, foul, check swing on a change down and out, same pitch-same check swing, strike looking at 91 mph fastball.   1 out.

found this tidbit on Miller- "Miller has an expansive strike zone that strongly favors pitchers. ... His four-year K/BB is second only to Doug Eddings in favor of pitchers. ... He's one of the best umpires to have behind the plate if you crave a pitching duel."

T1 of Game 5, 2 outs, men on 1st and 3rd

Puig
ball, ball inside, strike on the outside edge, strike 8 inches off the inside edge,  Hernandez scores on a poor throw by Yuli on Forsythe taking off too early.   Altuve with a heroic effort to keep the ball from going to center.

0 - 3

Defense is letting them down so far..

The real Keuchel just showed up an inning late.
All we need now is a little vaunting.

I hope I am wrong, but not sure if the stros get to Kershaw....

It will be our Mt Everest of pitching opponents when it means something.

Obviously, it's time for the hitters to settle down and get some good swings in.

I get it and no need to apologize. I’m as nervous as anyone in this thread, but confidence is half the battle.  Marwin got screwed out of a hitters count by the home plate ump, too.  The second pitch was nowhere close and Kershaw got a called strike out of it.

Are you doing that on MLB At Bat or some such? I'm flying to England on the night of a possible Game 7.
I booked the tickets in, like, April. The thought of a WS in November didn't even cross my mind.

Ridiculous strike call on first pitch to Bregman.  Second pitch was closer and called a ball.

I was worried generally and particularly about the length of that half inning and whether he would be rustier.

Do you think about bringing Maybin in for him, especially with his base stealing ability? Or is Maybin more valuable as a pinch runner at a specific moment in the next few innings.

I'll be happy to see Marwin hit from the left side . . .

Spoke too soon.

Good swing by Gattis.

I been impressed from his ability to avoid the shitty off speed out of the zone -- he has really improved since KC 2015.

Evan, is downright selective.

McCann
foul,  just foul down the right field line, foul,  grounded to the right side,  Hernandez throws him out from short right, 4 -3.  3 outs.

After 6, Astros 7, Dodgers 7

Hernandez,
Shows bunt but it's way outside, bunt shown-strike on the outside edge, ball outside,  bunted in front of the plate, Brad pounces and throws out Turner trying to get to third.  Yer out!     Hernandez to 1st.

Bellinger,
strike, strike swinging through high 95 mph heat,  hit to center, George tries for it but misses it and it goes to the wall, Hernandez scores, Bellinger to third.

7 -8

Forsythe
strike 1, ball inside, ball down, changeup in there for strike 2, ball outside, foul, strike 3 called on the outside edge and down.   Forsythe is upset.   Have a seat meat!   2 outs.

You can’t even pitch a guy five games in a row in a video game.  Why Roberts thinks its possible in real life is beyond comprehension.
