I'll be burning my nervous energy during the game by immersing myself in a work project.  Y'all have fun.

Now, I'm starting to get nervous.  I still believe the Astros take Game 1 and the whole enchilada, but it does not seem to be helping my nerves now.

This is the best team we've ever had.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Meanwhile I'm hosting a cub scout meeting.  I'll play catch up on the dvr as soon as it's done.

I think this game is going to be weird with the heat and just two teams that haven't seen each other. I hope the Astros can find a break.

Ball one to Gurriel was higher than strike three to Altuve.
In fairness, yuli is taller than altuve

It wasn't in the dirt, but it was low. You can't give them strikes at the shoulders *and* strikes below the knees.

Yeah, Kershaw looked like he was a little rattled, and I would have liked to see him have to deal with Altuve on first base.

I swear HPU called it a strike because Altuve took off towards 1st.

It never went away.  We changed the front page, not because of naughty filters, but because certain posters were worried about getting press credentials with the "ass" name.

It never went away.  We changed the front page, not because of naughty filters, but because certain posters were worried about getting press credentials with the "ass" name.

Posters here have press credentials? Or they just thought they would a la the dudes from Clutchfans, Texags, etc.?

He apparently only calls balls narrowly off the plate when the ball is down in the zone and the pitch number is either a prime number or has 2 as a factor.

Considering he's not due up for 7 more spots, fuck yeah you do.

You sure? If 7 guys bat this inning we probably have a lead.  Would you rather trust the pen with a lead over Keuchel?

It could happen with a lead or it could have happened without a lead and the bases loaded. Either way, you need a batter at the plate and trust the pen.

This. You want him as fresh as possible for his next start.

Well then why not pull in after the first?

Peacock always seems to be on the ropes and then gets a lazy fly ball to center or a strikeout.   He is pretty darn slippery right now.

With pitcher spot due up anyway,  I'd have preferred Keuchel to have stayed in.

Hopefully Peacock had WS jitters that have now been exercised.   Cuz that shit will not fly every time out.

Kershaw is good, so this is not surprising.  But they must figure out a way to hit on the road.

That was a quality at bat against the best closer in the game.

A get ahead fastball on the first pitch of the game, and a 2-strike hanger after a 2-out walk.  Shitfuck.

Rich Hill is definitely hittable. In spite of tonight's feeble offensive showing, I'm somewhat optimistic about tomorrow's matchup.

Chris Taylor was the difference.  He had three good at bats off Keuchel.  Homer, lineout, walk(that preceded Turner’s two run bomb)

The Dodgers bullpen outside of Jansen is hittable, too.  They are in a good groove right now, but the crap Smoltz was spewing about the game being over if the Dodgers are ahead after six innings is hogwash.

Except for tonight.

Did our scouting report say Kershaw cannot throw FBs for strikes? We took SO many.

It hurts the soul to punt away a winnable game like that tonight.

The bats need to wake up and be the Astros bats again. That is the only way this team wins.

Hopefully after seeing Kershaw they'll have success against a lesser lefty.  I wonder if Hill will be tempted to use his fastball more after Kershaw's success with it, rather than relying as heavily on his curve as he usually does.

I swear HPU called it a strike because Altuve took off towards 1st.

I've never understood why hitters do this.  It's probably not affecting anything, but you're sure as hell not going to influence the call in your favor and there are some enormous egos in the umpiring fraternity.
