Anyone Headed to LA for Game 2?
« on: October 22, 2017, 03:29:52 pm »
Trying to figure out travel plans to catch at least one game, but the logistics for all of them suck.  Game 2 (Verlander start) in LA is a possibility, but I'd be going solo to that one which I'm generally 'meh' about. Curious about how many OWA folks are heading to the Tuesday game in LA / where you are sitting / if there were still StubHub seats nearby (went to game 1 in 2005 and was glad I had another HOU fan with me in the sea of CWS fans).  Feel free to post or DM me if you're going to game 2.
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

I might be interested.  Boosts the price of the ticket (coming from Austin) but I don't want to go and sit alone.

My boss apparently got me a ticket...no idea where yet, but I will let y'all know. Like minded Stros fans always appreciated.

There are worse things than attending a World Series game alone. Lots of them.

Game 7 by myself (I saw HH and Jim prior) but knew no one by my seat.  One of the best times ever!  If I could afford to go to LA I would be there already!

This is me.  So incredibly stoked.

Feel like I need a parking lot buddy, though.  Dodger fan has been my worst experience as a visiting fan.

Wasn't it Dodger Stadium where some thugs mugged Giant fans? The park isn't in the best part of town.

I remember...just confirming if that happened at Chavez Ravine.

I'm going to try to get there by 4pm, depending on traffic, so hopefully will have a little time for a parking lot beer or two.

My ticket is in 60RS, Row U.

As I began my pilgrimage down southbound 101 this morning, the sky was a beautiful Astros orange.  It’s going to be a great day my friends.

After fighting the parking lot traffic and making it back to my buddy’s place in Malibu to crash for the night, I am finally wound down enough to reflect on what just happened.  I just witnessed the Astros’ first World Series game victory in franchise history live and in person.  I feel amazingly privileged to have been there.

I had a good feeling that the boys would win tonight... I just didn’t expect it to be like THAT.  I got a lot of high fives, fist bumps, and hat tips from Dodger fans on the way out, but boy were they pissed at Roberts.

It was such an outstanding game. Congratulations getting to see that in person.

Way to cheer our guys on.

You saw a GREAT game.  Even the nonHou/LA-affiliated pundits are saying that.

The Astros have a limited post-season experience but they have sure played in some epic series. Philly '80, Mets '86, Co-ards 04-05. This is shaping up to be a barn-burner.

You forgot the 18-inning epic vs. the Bravos.

From the 10th inning at Chavez Ravine last night. Great.
