Start him!
He's got a great attitude and a clear head to go with good stuff and a well-rested arm. Also, the Yankees haven't seen him.
He breezed him, one more time!

Morton on regular rest with McHugh ready for long relief if needed.

Morton has the stuff. Hopefully he paid attention to Verlander's balls of steel in shrugging off the dink base hits early.

He pitched four innings in Game 3.

Glad it is Morton. I want a great outing for his confidence as much as for the WS. Short leash of course. Hoping for 4-5 strong.

Starting pitcher is settled, now  what do you do with Reddick?    At the very least, I'd move him down in the lineup.   Or just cross your fingers and go with the, he's due.

Imagine the line-up will be similar to game 3:

Springer - 8
Bregman - 5
Altuve - 4
Correa - 6
Gurriel - DH
Gattis - 2
Gonzalez - 3
Reddick - 9
Maybin - 7

Morton - P

Same lineup as the last go round against CC?

Sit Josh until a righty is up, DH Gattis and put Marwin in the OF?

It’s imperative that McCann be behind the plate tonight.

My lineup:

Springer CF or RF
Bregman 3B
Altuve 2B
Correa SS
Gurriel 1B
Gattis DH
Gonzalez LF
Maybin CF or RF
McCann C

Sitting Reddick against CC. Cannot have Gattis catching this game.

I like this, but I’m still tempted to put Reddick in there and have him hit 7th and Marwin 8th. The Maybin non-catch in LF looms large for me. Gonzalez made a tougher, similar play last night and Reddick has been good in RF.

Could be, but one play does not detract from Maybin’s being a superlative OF. I am ok with Reddick too.

Agreed. Maybin looked a little intimidated on that play in Yankee Stadium, but he's still a very good outfielder. That one okay wouldn't change my mind about him.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

If this were the regular season Josh would have had a day off to decompress and refresh.

Of course this is light years from the regular season. He had some tough ABs last night including some tough strike calls that tilted things in the pitcher's favor (and the pitcher dutifully capitalized).  I like the idea of Josh on the bench for CC and coming to face a righty when the opportunity arises.

If he starts,  so be it.  He's a tough competitor and a good hitter who's in a bad way.  That doesn't last forever.

I’m splitting hairs and am kind of in the “dance with who brung ya” mindset given the options available. I’m very comfortable with Maybin in the OF, or as a late inning PH if we need a big swing with a tough lefty on the mound.

Reddick gives you effort and hustle on every play, I reckon one of shitty grounders he hits has to turn into a single at some point just beacuse of his hustle.  We have seen him force errors because of that never give up approach and he would play if it were up to me.

Mark it down, Reddick will reach 3 times on catcher’s interference tonight.

Or at least get one hit. I’m not sure which.

Duly noted,  and he's in the 9 spot.

For those at the game you should check out the replay of Josh's hit.
After he rounded first and headed back to the back he raised his arms to the dugout with a "Finally!" Look of relief on his face.

And he looked great in the Speedo last night.

He hit the ball well the next time also, but Frazier in the shift got him. As HH said, he is pulling off of everything.
