Correa is making a bid to not walk Altuve.

HR!!  3-0 already and only 1 out.

If only there was some kind of NSFW analogy for what the Astros are doing to Fister.

Top 1:

Springer leads off with a liner into right for a single, advances to second on a first pitch PB.
Reddick knocks him in with a single to center, takes second on the throw.
Red Sox crowd is pensive at best.
Altuve advances Reddick with a hard grounder to second. 1 down.
Correa! CORREA! Full count skyscraping two-run shibby to center!
Enter the boo birds!
Kelly warming up.
Marwin, swinging 3-0, grounds out on an excellent play by Bogaerts up the middle. Interesting green light when a walk might’ve knocked Fister.
Bregman K’s looking to end the inning.

Astros up three-nil.

Bottom 1:

Bogaerts grounds out 4-3 on Peacock’s second pitch.
Peacock throwing peas. Pedroia staying alive. Groundball singles into center.
Benintendi F9 first pitch.
Betts, 3-2, K’s swinging!

Are they really ready to pull Fister after 1 inning?  I know it is their season, but their bullpen isn't a strength is it?

Top 2:

Leading off, Beltran watches 6 pitches and walks to first.
Yuli G. line drive singles into center on the first pitch.
McCann hits a 3-1 pitch on the nose but right at JBJ. Farrell to the mound, Kelly coming in.
Both runners advance on a 1-0 WP to Springer, who proceeds to ground out 6-3, infield in. Shoot.
Reddick flies out to right on what would’ve been a three-run bomb after a great AB. Betts caught it over the short fence.

Still 3-zip.

I really hope Peacock can get out of this with only one run being scored.  That would mean AJ and the other asshats could cry.

He's awful and spends 30 seconds after every play lamenting how it didn't go boston's way and expounding on how it should have.

Bottom 2:

Moreland singles into left on the second pitch.
Ramirez dunks one into right. Runners on first and second.
Devers goes up 3-0, now full, walks to load them. McCann to the mound. Storm to the mound.
Leon falls behind 0-2, (Jim Crane is in the dugout, which seems weird) singles into left. One in, bases still full.
JBJ (Musgrove warming) K’s swinging. 1 down.
Bogaerts grounds into a 3-2 FC. 2 down.
Pedroia flies out to left.

Whew!

3-1 Astros

The only drawback so far this postseason is realizing Asswipe Peirzinski is still around and actually calling games.

I think Peirzinski is a great pickup for Fox.  During the void he can do political commentary.

Top 3:

Altuve singles into center—ho-hum.
Correa GIDP 6-4-3. Three pitches so far this inning from Kelly.
Marwin laces a single into left-center. Kelly looking eminently hittable.
Red Sox slowing the game to a crawl to warm-up Price.
1 pitch thrown to Bregman in 5 minutes. 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, hammers it to right for the third fucking out. Kelly got the shit kicked out of him and emerged unscathed.

3-1 visitors.

Bottom 4:

Benintendi, full count, K’s swinging on an outside fastball.
Jerry Peacock, sporting layered collared shirts, representing for Slim’s Fish Camp, watches as his son K’s Betts swinging, again on a full-count after getting squeezed on 2-2.
Moreland doubles off the CF wall. Please please let us beat the Red Sox and put Moreland on ice until ‘18.
Strom to the mound once more.
Ramirez singles just over Marwin’s fucking glove and advances to second on what’s deemed his error. 3-2.
And that’s it for Jerry’s son. Goddamnit. Here comes who, Musgrove?
Note to Astros pitchers: the plan to throw fastballs by Hanley Ramirez has completely stopped working.
Liriano in to face Devers, who feasts off of LH pitching.
Devers quickly homers to right and the Red Sox lead for the first time in the series.
Leon, because he is a Red Sox catcher facing the Astros, singles into left.
JBJ hits a laser right at Yuli G. for an out. Astros pitchers get the shit kicked out of them and emerge scathed.

4-3 Sawx.

Adversity!

Maybe the BBGs want the Astros to beat Price.  Everyone is human.

I see that I was Cabrera'd here.

Apparently Yuli didn't get the memo that he isn't supposed to get a hit against Price.

Top 5:

Price in for Boston.
Beltran, after a solid AB, grounds out 4-3.
Yuli G. loops a knock into right field.
McCann lines out to right. Lots of at ‘em balls already. Feels bad.
Springer K’s swinging on a 2-2 slider.

Nothin’ doin’.

4-3 Masshats.

Jim and I discussed when you might use McCullers, and we agreed it would have to be this exact situation.  Hopefully he can keep em there.

Point of order:  I've listened to two Astros postseason games on the radio. One went 16 innings, the other 18.

You can bet it's Price for the 7th and Kimbrel for the 8th and 9th.

going to be interesting, i'm hoping the boys finally get their knocks against him.

Price keeps dealing, he might pitch the 8th.

You must not have to suffer through the Sweet Caroline ad.

The Red Sox song. The Skippy Bayless promo is more annoying though.

TV guys are right. One swing is all they need.  A tired Price in the 8th is bad for the Red Sox.

All due respect, but STFU. The team hasn't lost yet, is still up 2-0 in the ALDS, and you're stroking keys and rambling about "goats," although you apparently don't even know what the term means or when it is appropriate to use it.

I hope all the questionable pitching has happened for the rest of the post-season.  Devo didn't seem comfortable out there to me. I thought he fell off the rubber when pitching, but I am no where near knowing real shit about pitching, so that is probably wrong.  But, I still think they got it.

Beltran hitting in front of Gurriel is criminal.

Bregman takes Betts to the wall  1 out.

Beltran back to batting left,  simply fly to Betts in right.. 2 out.

Gurriel hits one deep in the hole and Boegarts can't get the throw to first in time.. 4th hit of the day.

McCann rolls one over to first for the third out.

3-10 Red Sox..

Astros have had base runners every inning. But none on when their best clutch hitter up.

Not true. He singled after Beltran’s walk in the second.

that was posted when it was 3-4.

my bad for still being optimistic at that point.

Gregerson pitching the bottom of the 8th, Centeno catching...

Benintendi pops one to left center and Springer takes it.. 1 out..

Betts.. strike, ball to the backstop, swings through a disappearing slider, foul back, looks at strike three on the outer half.    2 out.

Moreland.. ball high, ball inside, grounder to first, Yuli tosses to Luke for the 3rd out.

3-10 Red Sox after 8

Carson Smith to pitch the 9th for Red Sox

Springer quickly 0-2, rolls one to third and Devers throws it at Springer's foot...   base hit..  it starts

Reddick, ball, grounds into a double play, 6-3.  2 outs..

Altuve, strike, rolls to Devers and he airmails the throw to first, Altuve stays on first..

Correa, ball in, Altuve takes second.. strike ,  foul, ball, looks at strike three..

Sox take game three 3-10.

Get 'em tomorrow boys...

Hindsight etc., but I wish Hinch had stuck with Peacock a little longer. He’d struck out the first two batters before giving up the doubles. During the regular season, down the stretch, he was criticized often on this board for failing to manage with a sense of urgency, but I felt like we could’ve used some more regular season-style management right then.

Saw that. ARod too. Turned it off.

It also seems like stranding runners has not been a particular strength of this bullpen, which perhaps has something to do with the fact that they’re all recently converted starters.

Trying to make 3 runs stand up over 9 innings is tough.

The offense was stymied.  The bullpen didn't implode until after Peacock would have been gone.

(This is not to excuse Liriano's failure)

What failure? Throwing a slider for a strike the guy hit out? Miracle swing.

Peacock did not have his magic today. Get ‘em tomorrow.

Fair enough.  I was listening on the radio.  My main point was lifting Peacock wasn't a disaster,  to whit it was a 1 run game until the bottom fell out late.

And yes.  Wash the stink off,  tip your cap and kick some ass tmw.

No shit. The Astros have played the Sox seven straight games. They've won five. Tomorrow's another day, gotta dust yourself off and get ready to play.

Ever notice how whenever Biz takes his clan to a game shit goes tits up? Wouldn't it be better to just stay home and watch reruns of the Duggars?

I'm starting to think there may be truth to this. The wife, baby and I saw them beat the Yankees earlier this year, so have narrowed the problem to one of the other three.
