What is up with Reddick?

He shows as "eligible" in the lineup card. I wonder if that means he really can play.

Hurt his back on Friday and has sat out 4 of 5 games since.  The only game he went for it was Sunday, where he went 0 for 4 with 2 K's.    It's not considered something that will keep him out of any playoff games.   Still, it'll be good to see him play some in Boston.

I had the impression he is.  I think Hinch is letting him rest while the team is producing and then will have him hitting against Boston.

Lately I've been amusing myself considering Hudson's assertion that Altuve would hit.400 if he swung only af balls he could actually reach with the bat. That might not be that far from the truth.

Well my 1pm meeting that precluded me from going to the game lasted 15 minutes.

Meanwhile my buddy sends me a pic 8 rows back of hone plate.  Giving away seats on stub hub.

Oh well.

Deshields flies out to LF on a ball that looked like Marwin may have not caught cleanly. Rangers aren't challenging. Guess they are in a hurry to go home.

I know about the back, but I thought he was ok.

“He’s wanted to play and we’re being pretty cautious with him," Hinch said before Wednesday  afternoon's series finale against the Rangers. "It’s convenient to give him the day off. I want to get Marwin (Gonzalez) in the outfield again because he’s going to play a lot of outfield moving forward. (I’m) getting Tony (Kemp) in the game again. It’s tough to sit him, but it’s probably the prudent thing to do. He should be back in there (Thursday).”

through 4 Verlander with 8ks. I don't see how anyone but he could be #1 starter in the postseason.
And as I write this Drew Robinson hits a solo HR to RF.
4-2 us.

If it's an important spot in a post season game I reckon Hinch will pinch run for Beltran. He'll put in someone with a little more speed, someone like Brad Peacock.

Weirdly anti-Kalasian home run call.

Disagree, it was peak Kalas.  Misjudged a fly ball.

And CORREA Homer!

Watching the Rangers get donkey punched is quite enjoyable. Now get all the starters out before Bannister starts having his pitchers star hitting the Astros batters...

I kinda hate to see Verlander go back out after sitting so long.

He's built to do it.  Plus he's still working on his curveball...

Watching the game at Whole Foods with dueling broadcasts. I didn't know ESPN had picked it up.

That's tragic. Plus, the ESPN feed is noticeably behind compared to AT&T Sports.

My buddy moved up to row 5 or so behind the plate.

He's wearing any orange jersey, his wife is wearing a white sweater thing.

The bar I just left had the ATT, FSW, and espn broadcasts up on various screens.

A little disorienting.

Odor with an ole' error on the McCann  groundball. Wonder if they miss Kinsler?
Calhoun came through the Dodgers' system as a 2nd baseman.

He should be back in there (Thursday).”

another lousy turnout for the game. Looks like alot are Astros fans. They really may regret not switching this series.

37-7 as it stands.  That's a steaming pile of regret, I'd say.

This is deeply satisfying. I was against moving the team to the AL, but if they wanted to create a rival that I would hate more than the Phillies, Mets, Braves, Dodgers, Cubs and Cardinals combined: mission accomplished. Between Hamels, Bannister, Odor and Gomez and the odious Metroplex and bandwagon fan base, last year hit me hard. Not gonna lie-
their comeuppance this series has been sweet.

Also, it's great that so many different hitters seem to be getting right just in time for the playoffs!

Wonder if they regret signing Odor to a 6 years/$49.5M (2017-22) deal.   Well, one time he punched another player.

Only 1 team in the 55 seasons of Houston MLB won at least 98 regular season games, before this year.

Unit v Verlander

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DKwwo9tUQAAEj88.jpg
Both at age 34. Johnson had won 133 games before joining the Astros and 170 after. Verlander with an additional 2 years in the majors had 183 wins prior to joining the Astros and at 4 and counting after.

Ok, there you go. Not to sure how the actions of a random bloke who lives 10, 500 miles away affects the outcome of a game but let me know what I have to do to make us win.  As long as it doesn't involve frito pies, pretty sure they don't exist in Perth.

Nice Summary

https://twitter.com/Epic_Tweets31/status/913158923481501696
Thanks for that. I have three brothers who are all serious Rangers fans. They are very frustrated with the Astros this season--used to count on Houston to be their back up date when they couldn't score a win elsewhere. So very nice to disappoint them. When the Astros and the Rangers finally both have a good team we are going to have an epic rivalry. Looking forward to it.
