Ball three was right off the edge.  Ball four was a little farther out.  Both were close, but good calls.

If Morton could consistently throw those pitches he threw to Nimmo, he'd be fearsome.

I know Harvey is a douche but Blum made it a point to say he won't be using his last name during the telecast. Is there something specific he did that would cause him to do that?

I'm good but the church I volunteered with needed some tools. So I'd look for things like that being needed.

I have no idea but while I ruminate on it I'll mention that for the last several weeks I've had the song I'm Blessed by Brendon Benson running on infinite repeat in my head. I like that somg just fine. I like the album a lot.

But really, every time someone says Harvey I hear My mother raised me single handedly. It's getting old.

So thanks for that, at least, Blummer.

B1:

Springer...full count...hit by pitch...leaned into ball four, I'm not sure why
Bregman...0-2...1-2...2-2...full count...fouling off pitches...singles to LF...Springer, running on the pitch, moves to 3B
Altuve singles to LF, Springer scores, Bregman to 2B
Reddick flies out F7
Marwin doubles to RF...Bregman scores, Altuve to 3B...Tajeron kicks it in RF, Atluve comes around to score on the E9
Maybin singles to RF, Marwin scores
Davis strikes out swinging on a check swing at the shoulders
Maybin steals 2B
Centeno ground out 1U

But the Astros take the 4-0 lead

I like that disc a lot.

I think you and I account for a double digit percentage of the people who own it. I never understood why it wasn't more popular at the time.

I saw him on my birthday six or eight years ago.

d'Arnaud to 3B on a wild pitch
Rosario strikes out swinging

4-0 Astros

There's less than an album of songs on the 2 discs...mostly Brendan's.

Note to Kalas:

It's not "ironic" that Matt Harvey is pitching today, it's simply a coincidence.

"Carolina Drama" is a favorite, but yeah, they're easy to dismiss.

Wasn't he supposed to be one of the top defensive 3Bs in AA? I'm really not seeing it.

PItch was a strike over the plate, Nimmo went 3/4 of the way around, but it was called a ball...even though a) it was over the plate, and b) it was a swing and miss.

The dark cloud surrounding all of this is that Marwin hasn't had a hit in what seems like weeks. It would be nice if he got going again.

Walk, E6, wild pitch, walk...bases loaded with one out for the Mets...

And that's it for Martes...Harris in...

T7:

Defensive switch...Tyler White in for Altuve...he'll go to 1B and Marwin will move to 2B defensively

Taijeron walks
Lagares...full count...flies out F8
Reyes taps back to the mound, Martes throws a 96 mph fast all to 2B, and takes Bregman's hand off as the ball goes into RCF.  E6.  Taijeron to 2B
Wild pitch...Taijeron to 3B, Reyes to 2B
Nimmo ...3-0...walks on four pitches

Martes out...Harris in...

Cabrera with a seeing eye ground ball that gets through to RF...Taijeron scores, Reyes to 3B, Nimmo to 2B
Flores crushes a grand slam to LF...Reyes scores, Nimmo scores, Cabrera scores
d'Arnaud strikes out looking
Rosario...0-2...1-2...flies out F8

But the Mets score five...got a game again 10-7 at the stretch

I guess if you have to give up a five-run shitburger of an inning, doing it when you have an eight run lead is probably one of the better times to do it.

Nice play by the third baseman there to get Centeno on that ground ball. Why is this being reviewed? The catcher had the ball about three strides before Centeno got there.

B7:

Callahan in for the Mets, also making his Big League debut...

Davis doubles to LCF
Centeno singles to CF...Davis thought the ball was caught and runs back to 2B
Kemp...attempting to bunt...0-2...singles up the middle...Davis, dragging a bass boat, rumbles around to score on a very close play, Centeno to 2B
Springer...0-2...1-2...flies out F9, Centeno tags and moves to 3B
Bregman grounds into FC on the first pitch...Centeno out 5-2 at the plate, Kemp to 2B...he was out by 60 feet, but Hinch challenging d'Arnaud was blocking the plate...still out
White chops to 3B on the first pitch...Cabrera throws high, off of Smith's glove...Kemp comes around to score, Bregman to 3B...Error on someone, but not sure who'll get it

That's it for Callahan, Josh Smoker in.

Reddick...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging

12-7 Astros

I understand the throw didn't hit Smith in the chest, but that ball has to get caught.

When did official scorers become so namby-pamby? That's an error on the 1B for being an idiot and not sliding to the front corner of the bag.

Gregerson in...

Smith grounds one up the middle,...off of Gregerson's foot, right to Davis on a big hop in the shift who promptly clanks it.  Scored a hit
Taijeron strikes out swinging
Lagares strikes out swinging
Reyes strikes out swinging

12-7 Astros

Man, the short RF area is totally torn up; it looks like the practice range out at the golf course. I wonder if the water table is high enough that the turf is really soft.
