Awesome.  I tried to rally up some locals, but don't know any that made it.

I understand taking strike one after two quick outs.  Maybe even the second.  But someone needs to tell him you only get three in this league.

Choo...0-2, trying to bunt...1-2...strikes out looking
Andrus singles to CF on a pitch at his shoulders a foot off the plate
Mazara lines to SS...shift on, no one there...single to LF, Andrus to 3B, for some unknown reason Fisher decides to throw to 3B and lets Mazara get to 2B and take the double play out of order
Beltre...infield back...3-0...walks to load the bases
Gallo...full count...takes strike three at the knees for a walk...Andrus scores, Mazara to 3B, Beltre to 2B
Gomez singles to CF...Mazara scores, Beltre scores, Gallo to 3B
Napoli...1 for his last 27...homers to LF...Gallo scores, Gomez scores
Odor lines out F5
Chirinos singles to CF
Choo grounds out 4-3

Rangers bat around...6-1

The Astros haven't been no hit in either of these games, so I choose to view it as a significant improvement over previous Hurricane rebounds.

It's crazy enough that they assume the Astros are going to make the post season, but it's mindboggling that they're still talking about finishing with the best record in the league...before the final series with Boston.

Hopefully the day off and Friday and a chance to get home will help.

At least with the early start tmw they'll get back to town early evening.

They look emotionally and physically sapped.   Hopefully CC will inject some energy.

Let's hope he comes back better than Springer and Gattis have.

Hey,  I thought you were talking me off the ledge earlier?

That's it.   Where's my rope and my boulder?

I was being facetious.  I've been saying for a month that the Astros are in trouble.

We'll you're only saying that because it's true.

This team needs heart. Miles and miles of heart.

Holy shit. I was thinking that exact Gene Hackman quite while umping and occasionally checking scores tonight.

Presently, this team has ZERO heart and ZERO character. It's fucking pathetic.

Any game the Astros give up 8 runs is definitely in LimaTime.

The Gallo AB was unbelievably stubborn by Keuchel.

Agreed. Fisher's bonehead throw and this AB were crucial parts of the loss.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Lots of things contributed to that lousy inning, not the least of which is the home run to Napoli who'd been in a weeklong slump of epic proportions. But it started with the throw from Fisher which  did not allow Keuchel to really try to work Beltre and more or less forced him to load the bases.  Ball four to Gallo was a strike, but Keuchel really nibbled that whole at bat. He then more or less gave in to the free swinging Gomez. Just a really bad plan that run through the order.

Napoli was 1-27 or 28 and hit a 2 strike pitch. The pitch to Gomez  was middle in. Ball four to Gallo was the same pitch which was strike 3 to Choo, but he cannot leave the pitch to the discretion of the umpire. The 2-2 was not close.
