Astros did not have their home uniforms or their regular road uniforms with them.  They are wearing their blue warmups, and presumably will the entire series.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The only way I've been able to see the Astros on TV this year is on national broadcasts or on the goddamn fucking Rangers broadcasts. I'm glad to get to see this game, but holy shit I hate the cocksucking shitlord Rangers. Fuck 'em right in the ear.

I was listening to the radio broadcast while I was cooking dinner, and I had absolutely no idea about what was going on in the game and barely received a hint that a baseball game was actually in progress.

Difference in this game so far is the two double plays they got and the two double plays we didn't

Only needed one.

Now another perfect double play that didn't get made because of the shift.

Fiers was the worst possible starter for this game.

Incapable of pitching thru any adversity or prosperity with 2 strike counts.

As four the missed DP this inning, the lead runner was the leadoff hitter whom he FUCKING WALKED after the offense cut the lead in half.

What a shitty performance.

Springer had almost nothing to lose by diving there since the runners were going with two outs. I have no idea why he pulled up in that situation to make the safe play.

Napoli...3-2...walks
Odor grounds to 1B...Gurriel had to hold the ball to let Bregman get to the bag, so it's another perfect double play ball that didn't get made because of the shift...Napoli out 3-6 at 2B
Chirinos soft liner to where the second baseman should be, but there's the shiftfuck again...single to RF.  Odor to 2B
Choo singles to LF, Odor scores, Chirinos to 2B
Andrus double off the RF wall...Chirinos scores, Choo to 3B
Mazara...infield in,..3-0...pops out F6
Beltre  bloops a single in front of Springer...Choo scores, Mazara scores
Gallo scores lines out to 2B

8-2 Rangers

Pitch hit the dirt.

Not every pitch on the dirt is ruled a wild pitch. I figured it was not wild enough for stinky to swing at our Gattis throw to first. Just didn't seem like a WP to me

Should have been E-2.

Should have been an out, but that's not how that's scored. The batter can advance to 1B either on a wild pitch or a passed ball. Had he advanced beyond 1B, it would be an error on someone.

Not every pitch on the dirt is ruled a wild pitch. I figured it was not wild enough for stinky to swing at our Gattis throw to first. Just didn't seem like a WP to me

If a runner advances, it's either a wild pitch or a passed ball. If you Gattis should have caught the pitch on the fly, it's a passed ball. If not, it's a wild pitch. Only two options there.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Dammit, Pettis

Do the Astros keep stats on base coaching decisions.?  I can't believe he is still in the box.

If this is the level of effort the Astros are gonna give the next few weeks, they'll be in fourth place before they return home.

Davis' range is roughly the size of a postage stamp.

AS a fielder he could make a great DH.

Should have been an out, but that's not how that's scored. The batter can advance to 1B either on a wild pitch or a passed ball. Had he advanced beyond 1B, it would be an error on someone.

Yep, I thought about this after I posted, and you're right.

This is kind of scary.
The 2008 team was not as talented as this one, but it had a bunch of postseason-tested veterans. Ike still broke them.
This team is flighty as fuck on a good day, and they're dealing with something even worse. The sheer scope of Harvey and simple probability dictate that the impact on their families, friends and homes is worse than what the 2008 team faced. And this is after being exhausted and worn down by the siege of injuries...

The one blessing is the big lead. They may need all of it.
When the Clark is dead, Spack will eat his spleen. Before he dies, Spack will put his posts under the knife so the Clark will see his threads wiped out forever...

This team is just completely dead right now.  There is no energy, no sense of purpose, no desire.  It's only going to get more frustrating as this crisscrossing the country and 4-week road trip continues.  I know it's hard, but they'd best unfuck themselves or they will be one sad footnote.

I would rather lose like this than the way we lost the middle game to LAA.

No more gloom and doom. Get 'em tomorrow.

Rolling over like this hurts.  Rolling over for the team that has constantly made you their bitch, and just told you to shove your natural disaster up your ass, is even more disheartening.

Do not forget it IS a disaster, and these guys' families are dealing with it while they play a game. Hang in there as fans the way we want them to as a team.

Agree.   This game sucks but tmws game will start 0-0.

And there be a decidedly better starter on the mound for the Astros.

Very true.  Perspective, right.  I really want them to go out and kick some ass for them, especially against these assholes.

But remember the 1992 team that had the long road trip due to the GOP convention. That was a young team and they exceeded expectations on that trip and it made them into a pretty good team. Like they grew up on that trip.

They're just giving the Rangers life so that they end it for good in that September series.
