Peralta strikes out looking on a pitch that Fiers missed his spot by 3 feet on.
Pollock sneaks a single between 3rd and short for a single. 1 out.
Umpires are huddling, there is something behind the plate that the umps don't like. Huddle over, umps explain to the bench bosses and we're back at it.
Lamb up, Pollock on the move and Stassi guns him down! Review shows they just nipped him. 2 outs. 2-2 the count. JUST misses the outside corner, 3-2.  Nubber against the shift, Davis picks it up and fires it, called out. They're taking a lot, this play was REALLY close. Dbacks won't challenge, probably a good call, it was REALLY bang bang.

Springer scorches a single down the LF line, rounds first and promptly falls on his ass trying to stop. Scrambles back to first.
Bregman pops to right center. 1 out.
Altuve hits a deep fly to the warning track. Kalas was only kinda yard crying. 2 outs.
Springer picked off like the doofus he is. 3 outs.

Peralta strikes out looking on a pitch that Fiers missed his spot by 3 feet on.

Walk the 7 and 8 hitters so you can give up a hit to a guy who's hit like .170 over a 10 year career.  Awesome.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Marte, who spent the entire game whining about balls and strikes last night according to the Condensed game on mlb.com. Fiers all over the place, 3-0. 3-1. Misses away and walks him. My hatred is starting to rise for ol' Mike again.
Hermann up, and Fiers throws away a pickoff attempt and Marte goes all the way around to third. Ugh. 3-2 and Hermann fouls one off that comes back and hits him right in the dingaling. Ouch. Fiers misses low, of course, and walks him. 1st and 3rd and no outs.
Mathis up 3-1. Takes a fastball that was pretty high and tosses his bat on what was called strike 2. Slaps a single past a diving Yuli to drive in Marte.
Strom out to tell Fiers how fucking terrible he's being.

1st and 2nd, no outs.
Turned the order over, fanfuckingtastic Mike.
Peralta takes strike one, which makes Mike 3 of 10 on first pitch strikes. Towering pop up just foul of 3rd. Davis hauls it in. 1 out. That pitch was right down the middle. Got lucky there.
Pollock holy fuck, Fiers just almost killed Stassi on a cross up change up for a strike. Stassi was sliding away and flipping his glove and had to totally readjust and still somehow caught it. Called strike three on a nasty heater right on the outside corner. 2 outs.
Lamb three consecutive balls. Hey Mike, put him on so you can face Goldschmidt again! right down broadway, strike 1. strike 2, on the knees. fouled off. 35 pitches THIS INNING by Fiers. BLOWS ONE BY HIM, PONCHE!

Fiers somehow wiggles out with only 1 run scoring.

Mid 3 1-0 DBacks.

I know this is a tired topic, but MLB network has this game on.   But it's blacked out here.  The Arlington team doesn't play until tonight.   So MLB network has a black screen, ensuring that NO baseball will be viewed here this afternoon.

Also Go Astros,  Come on offense,  and July Fiers please come back.

Someone made an out while I was getting a drink.
Stassi 3-1 hard grounder to 3rd, Lamb makes a nice play and throws him out 5-3. 2 outs.
That bobblehead for the 97 team is fucking hideous.
Marisnik smokes on past a diving Marte for a single. 1 on, 2 outs.
Springer breaks his bat on a roller to Marte, fields it and throws it away! Marisnik to 3rd, Springer to 2nd on an E by Marte. Goldy almost picked it, but the short hop proved to be too tough to wrangle.
Breggers rolls another one to Marte who throws low again but Goldschmidt picks this one. Wasted opportunity. 3 outs.

End 3. 1-0 Dbacks

Goldy rolls one to Breggers at short, 6-3.
JD Martinez foul tip strikeout! 5 Ks for Fiers. 2 outs.
Descalso hits a little league home run on a ball that hit the wall in deep right center. Ricocheted back toward center, then Jack proceeded to try to grab it with his glove and tosses it away from himself. 2-0 Diamondbacks. The Official Scorer is apparently ruling it an inside the park home run, which is fucking ludicrous.
Marte smashes a ball to right that goes to the wall and cruises in to third easily with a triple.
Fiers cruised through 2 outs and has given up two fucking rockets since. Ugh.
Hermann punches out swinging. 2-0 Dbacks.

Hey Astros, now would be a good time to answer.

End 3. 1-0 Dbacks

Inside the park HR and now a triple

 Right. Would have scored anyway.

Their pitcher has not given up a run in 10 innings.

The one commerical I never tire of is the Bagwell HOF one.

Altuve  leads it off and swings wildly for strike 3. 1 out.
Yuli hits one straight up. Goldy caught it on the mound.
Marwin swings and misses, punchout.

Good to see the offense following Fiers lead today.

Mathis (hitting a cool .220 after his RBI single earlier) down swinging. 1 out.
Peralta hits one a mile high, Springer under it. 2 outs.
Pollock whacks one in the LC gap, Marisnik runs it down. 3 outs.

The sound mix is terrible today. Too much crowd noise, some odd white noise, and a headache inducing high pitched tone.

It is terrible most days now. I'm wondering if this is by design...to bring a feel like you are in the park. It drives me nuts. I would listen to the radio broadcast but I'm usually not in real time.

Has Davis ever played baseball before?
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Beltran check swing, yes he went. 1 out.
Davis takes a pitch off the outside corner the catcher had to stab at, strike 1. Slaps a ball to 3rd, Lamb clanks it right to Marte who snags it and airmails the throw in to the dugout. You have to give 2 errors on that play. Davis to 2nd, 1 out.
Stassi chopper to 3rd, Lamb makes a nice pickup and throws him out and Davis tries to take 3rd. Called out by Mr. Hand Dana Demuth, replay looks like he might've made it it on the swim move. Umps are taking a look. That was a really stupid decision by Davis either way. He's out. Replay didn't show anything definitive. 3 outs.

And the Astros continue sucking ass against a guy with these numbers on the year:

W   L   ERA   G   GS   SV   IP   SO   WHIP
9   11   4.52   24   24   0   135.1   133   1.53

Mathis (hitting a cool .220 after his RBI single earlier) down swinging. 1 out.

Pollock whacks one in the LC gap, Marisnik runs it down. 3 outs.

Fiers at 85 pitches through 5.
Lamb blasts the first pitch in to the Astros bullpen. Fuck you, Fiers. That fastball was right down the goddamn middle.
Goldy grounds out to Davis, 5-3. 1 out.
Martinez broken bat single doinks in to right.
And here comes AJ.

Descalso grounds to Bregman who runs down the baserunner then fires to first for a double play!  What a turn by Breggers, who was playing on the right side of the infield in the shift.

Marisnik push bunts toward first, pitcher over to try and make the play and can't come up with it. Bunt single!
Springer full count draws a walk. Jake on 2nd, Springer on 1st. No outs.
Bregman drives one to deep left, Hermann hauls it in jumping just before the wall about 10 feet over from the cutout. 1 out. Missed a 3 run shibby by about 10 feet to the right.
Dbacks coach out arguing something. Presumably having to do with the baserunners. Replay shows that Springer touched 2nd on the way back to first and never passed Jake, so shut up already. 1 out.
Altuve swings at a ball that bounces so badly the catcher can't keep it in front of him, both runners advance. That was fucking horrendous on Jose's part. 0-2 count. AND SWINGS AT ANOTHER ONE THAT FUCKING BOUNCES, check swing, and he went says the first base ump. IT BOUNCED IN FRONT OF THE GODDAMN PLATE. And Altuve yells at de Jesus the first base ump. Here's a fucking thought, DON'T START YOUR SWING ON BALLS THAT BOUNCE. 2 outs.
Yuli takes ball 3, called strike 2 off the inside corner. 2-2. And of course he chases a ball that bounces. 3 outs.

I'm done doing PBP, this game is making me too angry.

So typical of him in this situation. It's easy to see how the batting leader in hits/avg isn't in the mix for RBI.

Your slop throwing lefty has dominated, Marwin's run means nothing, and he's way less powerful right handed. WHY?

Jesus Fucking Christ. Someone is ready to go home. Marwin has taken 3 balls and the count is 2-2. And one of balls called on him was a strike.

Holy fuck, what a screwjob that last at bat was. That umpire should be fined for those calls.

Never threw the ball within three feet of the plate and gets three strike calls.

Ball four well outside called strike three. Fucking terrible. Both losses in this series were shutouts.

Good question

I guess they knew the strike zone was going to quadruple in size. Seven straight balls.

On the bright side, an Astro catcher threw out a baserunner. The book says they had 11on the season, but I swear I don't remember it happening.

Hinch says bat was basically taken out of marwins hand.  He's pissed.

He's right. Marwin had zero chance to reach base that ininning. Ump decided this game was going to be 8.2 innings. That he was not going to let Corbin give up a run no matter what.

Did you see his last AB? Three pitches, all of them bounced, K with runners at second and third

No, I'm at my desk with people coming and going for meetings plus working in between the game zone.  I still hoped he would get a hit versus not getting a hit.

Definitely the most emotional I've seen him during this month long slump.  He said he knows they aren't supposed to criticize the umps, but felt they had been on the wrong end of an inconsistent zone all week.

A positive outing for sure, hopefully one to build on and put his nerves and first few innings as an Astro behind him.

Of course. That was not what I was saying. Think Carl Everett v Braves. Worse.
