That lineup looks so much better with springer in it. Can't wait to see Correa in there too.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

And Fisher has become a strikeout factory.

This is the main reason why I was concerned about parting with Aoki. Young guys are very likely to go through funks, which suck to endure in the crucial part of the season for a team with aspirations. Even when Aoki sucked, he frequently put the ball in play and worked the count.

Garcia walks
Moncada...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...walks, Garcia to 2B
Delmonico...full count...lines one off of McHugh's leg...bounces to 3B, Bregman makes a play, but can't get the runner....Garcia to 3B, Moncada to 2B
Anderson...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging
Narvaez...3-1...grounds into 3-6-1 double play on a nice play by Yuli behind the bag!

Whew.  Still scoreless, though McHugh threw 30 pitches that inning

Jose took an Altuve-sized, easy swing and still hit it about 385 the other way off the wall.

At this point, why not pull him out of there as at least a precautionary measure? All these injuries have caused me to be a proponent of abundant caution.

B3:

Engel pops out behind the mound...Bregman, Mawin, Altuve and Gurriel converge...they all call it, but then all back away...ball drops between them...Engel is running...runs through 2B and nobody is covering 3B so tries to 3B...McHugh finally runs over there and Engel stops halfway...scored a double, thrown out 5-4 trying to stretch it into a triple...on a ball that traveled about 70 feet...just like you've seen a million times
Garcia flies out F7
Sanchez strikes out swinging

Intriguing inning

0-0

Same category as a Home Alone. Sure, it's set in Chicago, but they're never really out in the city.

Other than the Bears hat in the iconic chevy chase pose lighting the lights, is the movie that quintessentially "Chicago?" That said, it was no more or less so than Home Alone, which made the honorable mention list.

Beltran is the Name that Astro.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

T6:

Altuve pops out F3 on the first pitch
Reddick lines out to RF...hit it hard, but right at right fielder
Gurriel...0-2...singles to RF
Marwin flies out F8 at the track

4-0 Sox

Shift fucks the Astros for two more runs...4-0...still one out...

Either the Ringer Baseball or Effectively Wild podcast recently discussed how shift efficiency has finally peaked and started to decline this season. I was dozing off while listening, but I remember that usage is slightly decreasing and BABIP against has also stabilized, indicating that it's been overdone a bit. They postulated that since exit velo is still increasing that it's still been more effective than the numbers indicate, but they obviously are inclined to be favorable about analytically driven decisions.

Astros are being handled by a scrub pitcher and a team that had lost 23 of their last 28.  Absolutely pathetic.

Sewell should have hired a different ad consultant than MD Anderson.
There is a Stan Richards correlation. MMI currently handles MD Anderson which was previously handled by The Richards Group. Sewell is handled by Richards/Carlberg Agency, which is under The Richards Group umbrella.

Barring a comeback, AL West lead over Mariners will be down to 13 games.

Springer has more hits since the ASB than McCann.
