Well that happened quickly.

Dozier homers to LF on the first pitch of the game.  Again.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Aside from the get ahead fastball on the first pitch of the game, Musgrove has done a good job of getting weak contact.  Lots of rollover ground balls.

I would have called it, too. I've seen a lot of Beltran swings this year that just seem like a flick of the wrists that go out. I was surprised that one didn't leave the park.

He's been in the league for like 15 years.  How young did you think he was?

Sano walks
Kepler singles to CF, Sano to 2B
Grossman singles to RF, Sano to 3B, Kepler to 2B

That's all for Musgrove, Sipp in
Rosario bounces back to the mound...Sipp knocks it past Altuve into RF...Sano scores, Kepler scores...Grossman to 3B and Rosario ends up at 2B on what's scored a double
Polanco strikes out swinging
Castro...full count...strikes out looking...has a few words for HPU
Dozier intentionally walked to load the bases
Granite...3-1...full up...grounds out 4-3

4-2 Twins

Reddick grounds into FC on the first pitch...Altuve out 4-6 at 2B, can't get two on the hustling Reddick
Reddick takes 2B on fielder's indifference
Correa...3-0...3-1...pops out to shallow CF

Can't have the bases loaded three times and not put any runs on the board.

1-9 with RISP, and that one hit didn't score a run.
Tough luck on the Bregman lineout, and on the comebacker to the mound that ended up a 2-run double.

Go get em tomorrow.

How do you teach a guy to not throw so many strikes?  I can't believe I'm saying this, but he needs to nibble a bit more, doesn't have the stuff to just pound the strike zone all day.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

How do you teach a guy to not throw so many strikes?  I can't believe I'm saying this, but he needs to nibble a bit more, doesn't have the stuff to just pound the strike zone all day.

I would say he has to better command the strike zone.  There's a fine difference between "nibbling" and "command".  Nibbling happens when you don't have confidence in your pitches.  It's mostly offspeed stuff, trying to entice a swing because you're afraid to throw a strike.  I don't want Musgrove nibbling, he's the type of pitcher who has to get ahead of hitters and stay ahead to be successful.  He can't pitch scared.  But he can't throw meatballs either.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Stanton did a good job for me explaining the difference between "control" and "command." Musgrove lacks command, especially with two strikes.

Yeah, we're on the same page, just a poor choice of words on my part.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Sipp can't field any better than he can pitch.

So you're saying he's been fielding pretty well lately?

Oh come on.  That was not an easy play, and if he stabs it, it's a 1-2-3 double play with no runs scoring.  Just a tough break in a game full of them.  And Sipp has pitched very well lately.

You are a nicer person than I with your response, but you knew that.

I've felt kinder and gentler lately.  But that could change like the weather.
