1977 Throwback Saturday...Astros @ Mariners 6/24
« on: June 24, 2017, 09:10:34 pm »
Astros wearing there puke ugly rainbow jerseys tonight...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Gurriel was supposed to have the night off but Marwin was a late scratch.

McCann has to be the least excited Astro to don these unis.

He sure wasn't excited to swing the bat.

He's concerned these unis aren't exactly slimming and would prefer to keep his profile  facing the camera.

Gamel looks like he should be playing bass for Scott Stapp's solo project.

No, I take that back. He's probably man-bunning that when he doesn't have to wear a cap. The bass would imply too much credit.

Blum's "YOU ______!" is cracking me up.

Eschenfelder is just goofy. He can't keep himself under control when Blum says something silly.

T3:

Springer fights one off the fists for a single to RF on the first pitch
Springer to 2B on a balk
Reddick homers to CF, Springer scores
Altuve grounds out 5-3 on a pitch that hits the ground
Correa strikes out swinging at a pitch 9 feet away from him
McCann grounds out 3U on the first pitch

But the Astros grab a 2-0 lead

I especially liked him lobbing one for Eschenfelder to return it, and it went just right over his head.

I like the fact that Blummer just seems to disappear and leaves Eschenfelder just to rattle on his own.  I think Blum learned a lot working with Ashby.  He has to entertain himself somehow.

I think they should bring them back for Sunday home games or something. Same color scheme as current unis. They would  sell more merch.

This is on Eschenfelder... he thought it was a good idea to point out the M's had no hits before the Cruz AB.

Yeah, I would have been happy with only 1 run scoring, but his dumb baserunning got 'em out with none.  Excellent.

Correa singles to RF, Springer to 3B, Reddick to 2B

That was a crazy swing of emotion I had in the span of .32 seconds. I thought it was caught, yelled fuck (the cat bolted stage right), then yelled Yes louder when it popped out. I probably won't see that cat for two days.

B9:

Giles in to try to close it out...

Cano flies out F7 at the track
Cruz doubles to RCF
Seager grounds out 4-3, Cruz to 3B
Haniger...3-1...3-2...walks
Dyson...3-1...walks, Haniger to 2B
Zunino, pinch hitting...1-2...2-2...3-2...walks, Cruz scores, Haniger to 3B, Dyson to 2B
Ruiz strikes out looking

Astros win 5-2

Good to have LMJ back...

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
