Astros wearing the pumpkin jerseys...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The only good news is Springer left under his own power. He went to the clubhouse without any assistance and didn't seem like he was in dire pain.

Hopefully a bruise and not anything broken.

Looked like it hit his shoulder and ricocheted to his hand.  Hoping for just a bruise.

Another broken hand with the kind of season he's having would be a fucking gut punch.

HIt the arm first then ricocheted to his hand.  Hopefully that took some of the velo off of it.

COME THE FUCK ON GATTIS... Works the count to 3-0 then swings and hits a lazy fly. I'm glad it drove in a run, but fuck. Maybe try and do some real damage?

It looked like it was ball four outside. That would have driven in a run, too.

Not with runners on the corners it wouldn't have.

Well that felt like a wasted opportunity, although 2 runs is better than zero.

Man, fuck these guys. I didn't see the play, but dotting players because they're hot and/or beating you to "set the tone" or "send a message" is some pussywaffle bullshit, if indeed that's what happened. I seem to recall a few instances in which that seemed to be the case this season.

Hope y'all's injury mitigating theories prove accurate.

Didn't look all that bad.  From the CF camera it looked like it hit his tricep and caromed away.  Dugout camera showed it glanced off his arm and hit the back of his hand, not terribly unlike the pitch that broke his hand in 2015.

It was gut-wrenching only because of the possible implications of losing the guy hitting 21 HRs.

B1:

Joyce strikes out looking on a BIG bender
Olson singles to RF, his first hit of the season
Healy...0-2...a little chin music makes it 1-2...strikes out swinging on another really good curveball
Davis...0-2...1-2...2-2...strikes out swinging

2-0 Astros

I didn't realize until I looked today that George is 2nd in the AL in HR, just 3 behind Aaron Judge.

Stop it at the right moment in second 19 and it looks like it hit the big knuckles not the flat back of the hand.

Gattis with a 2-run single...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

And Marwin made it easy for Beltran to score.

Seems like the A's bullpen is going to be abused today.

I was worried about the offense today with Springer going down and Altuve having the day off...

Bregman flies out F8

Reddick doubles to RCF on the first pitch
Correa...3-0...3-1 on the corner...walks

Gattis singles to RF, Reddick scores, Correa scores, Beltran to 2B
Marwin homers to RF on the first pitch...Beltran scores, Gattis scores
Gurriel pops out F2 right behind the plate

COME THE FUCK ON GATTIS... Works the count to 3-0 then swings and hits a lazy fly. I'm glad it drove in a run, but fuck. Maybe try and do some real damage?

I keep reading elsewhere that Fisher down and keeping Aoki up is a mistake. Do people not see how valuable and good Aoki is?

Obviously not here, but other boards.

Depends on what it's for.  If you can get Archer for him, of course.  I wouldn't trade him for a middle reliever.  Anything in between, I'd have to see the deal.  But he's certainly not untouchable.

Diaz is on the roster and it wasn't close. Things escalated quickly, and once a Feliz was ready, he didn't exactly slam the door.

Way more dramatic than it needed to be, but looks like I got out of the shower just in time.

Astros with a 4-game sweep to pick up their 50th win..
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Now I'm picturing Dany Targaryen wearing a Devo energy dome hat.
