T1:

Betts grounds out 4-3
Pedroia flies out F7
Bogarts...full count...walks
Moreland...3-0...3-1...flies out F8

No score, but Paulino struggling to throw strikes

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Is that what these horrendous uniforms are all about? Then why light blue? I can think of other, possibly more evocative colors.

B1:

Springer doubles to LCF
Marwin bunt single, Springer to 3B
Altuve...2-0...2-1...2-2...flair double down RF line...Springer scores, Marwin to 3B
Correa 3-1...3-2...walks
McCann...just misses a grand slam by a few feet foul...sac fly to CF, Marwin scores, Altuve to 3B
Beltran sac fly to CF, Altuve scores
Gurriel grounds into FC on the first pitch, Correa out 5-4

But the Astros put up a crooked number...lead 3-0

Steaks were outstanding.  As usual when I grill them.  Some sort of smashed potato thing.  Mrs. Hawk's grilled watermelon and tomato salad with red onion and feta.  A nice Chilean pinot noir.  Astros have six runs.  So far so good.

I just set off our fire alarm grilling steaks

What kind of steaks?  How hot was your grill?  What wine are you drinking.  These are all factors.

Made margaritas, no wine yet..  Prime porterhouse from Costco.  brought them to 135 in a sous vide, then threw them on a 600 grill to finish.  Then the alarm went off.

I think I'll open a Chateuneuf de Pape in honor of light blue uniforms.

But my kids, at 12 and 8, made us a 3 course dinner for our anniversary. They are elite.

This is just like watching the Saturday game at the barbershop on the tiny black and white!

Speaking of barber shops...I had to order some new shaving supplies the other day and been wanting to give a straight razor a go.  Didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, so I got one of those shavettes that have a changeable blade, like the ones they use at barber shops nowadays.  I tried it today.  It worked pretty well, but I need to practice a lot to get comfortable.

Can't grill it. If I were at the house there'd be no discussion. I'm thinking about a beurre blanc-y sort of sauce.

The lobsters I just sautee in some olive oil, a shitload of garlic and a couple of bay leaves.

Can't grill it. If I were at the house there'd be no discussion. I'm thinking about a beurre blanc-y sort of sauce.

The lobsters I just sautee in some olive oil, a shitload of garlic and a couple of bay leaves.

The sauce on the fish sounds good.  I like my lobster pretty simple, so a nice pan sautee would probably work as well.

My wife saw a jackfruit at HEB yesterday.  She didn't know what it was and I think it scared her.

You probably just haven't got to the part where it konks out yet.

I think there is still a few minutes lag but it is continuous and picture is as clear as it gets.

I don't know what they did to the jackfruit, but we're gonna try to find out. It kinda resembled spicy pulled pork or carnitas.

Nicole made a blackberry galette, and it was such a hit neither of us got any.

Meanwhile, I can't figure out why I can't watch this game. It says they've determined I'm in the regional broadcast area. But
a) Durham is nowhere near Boston
b) I watched last night
c) my dad, an hour east of here, is able to watch
