HOU: Dallas Keuchel (L)  (9-0, 1.67)

KC: Jason Vargas (L)  (7-3, 2.08)

It's entirely possible that these two will be teammates come August.
Goin' for a bus ride.

No anymore. Keuchel scratched and headed to clubhouse.

I mean in the last 24 hours the Astros coughed up a 7-1 lead and Keuchel got scratched.  That's shitty.

The good news for the Astros is that as Correa now knows Eddings calls a lot of strikes and Diaz should see a whole lot of right handed batters.

Nasty curve to get Springer there.

Exactly the same as his first at bat. I'm not sure why he's watching the fastballs over the plate and offering at curves off the plate. Uncharacteristically bad at bat for George with risp.

God damn it, that's the same damn ball that confused Reddick last night, and he played just as poorly tonight. There's no way Perez should score from 1st on that ball.

Well, here we go with the hit parade.

What's the roadmap for bullpen usage tonight after Diaz?  Obviously Sipp and Gregerson will see at least an inning each.

I couldn't tell if he misplayed it or if it was an outfield shift where he was playing close to the line, marisnick was shaded over into RCF and Reddick was shaded over towards the left field foul line.

Last night Reddick was way the fuck off the line for no apparent reason. And he seemed unusually slow getting to the ball. Tonight he was positioned normally but expected a carom that didn't happen.

I was struck by his seeming nonchalance last night. as if he didn't really think they would send the runner.

I just went back and watched it.  I don't think he was being nonchalant.  It looked like he pulled up a bit waiting for the carom but the ball went straight up.

Minecraft at my house sounds nothing like melodious. I keep being whined at to mediate disputes over whose wolves killed whose pigs and sheep or who burned down whose house. I told them I only arbitrate in the real world, but I'd be happy to eliminate their digital problems by pulling the plug.

Bummer. Kuechel starts tonight and it's likely a W, gotta hope he's just "sick".

I saw a replay of him tossing the ball in the bullpen and either he was about to hurl from exertion or he was grimacing every time he released. Easily could have been my overactive imagination though.

I don't like that they keep beating the Astros. Fuck them.

And I don't like that the Astros keep sending Tony Sipp out to pitch.

Who does? The problem with starters missing games, as you know, is that it wears the bullpen thin and creates a need to choose between bad options. I guess they could just get rid of Sipp. Anyway, Tony Sipp isn't the reason the Royals keep beating the Astros.

Any word on Keuchel? Hinch said he had lost weight lately. I'm a little surprised they haven't put out something yet.
