I know it's gnat shit out of pepper territory, but Bregman hit a couple of balls hard last night, and now he's sitting again.

Sure would like to see him start picking it up at the plate.

I thought the same.  Maybe it's the fallback "scheduled day off".

Man, that was a pop fly home run. 315.5 feet.

No, they're not.

He's still learning the position. Give him some time. First base footwork isn't as easy as you think it is.

Not surprising but Blue Jays fans dislike Odor also.   Awesome boo.

I know, I played it for a few years.  Not ragging the guy really, poor choice of words on my part.

Ugly inning, bats are going to pick the gloves up.

I'll agree with you that he's lacking in footwork around the bag still for sure.  I think he'll get better and better the longer he plays there. 3rd to first is a hard switch.

It also could've been a LOT better.

Three errors in an inning and only giving up one run is nice, but not trickledicking around and making 3 errors is WAY better.

Really anyone that has played first for a while just inherently has the footwork. But yeah, Bagwell was just a wizard.

Holy Shit. Gattis swings at one head high, misses it, and it drills Marty Foster right in the left arm. Foster's arm is just hanging right now.

I guess I'll pick up play by play since nobody else is...

Correa singles up the middle. Janesh dives and knocks it down, but no chance at a play.
Beltran works a 3-2 walk.
Gattis swings and misses at a head high pitch that hits the umpire without touching anything else to strike out. Ball goes to the fence, runners advance to 2nd and 3rd. 1 out.
Marwin drills one to left (hitting lefty),  that just misses the Crawford Boxes and hits the wall just right of it. This ball was 1000x harder hit than the home run earlier. Both runs score. Marwin cruises in to 2nd. 3-2 O's.
Yuli slashes one to almost the same spot, but on a line. Kim in left field jumps and misses the ball by feet. Marwin scores easily. Yuli pulls in to 2nd. Kim looks REALLY uncomfortable in left, looked really bad on both of those. And Kim is basically playing with his back against the scoreboard, and has been all game. TV guys are in in shock at how weirdly he's aligned. Now he moved in a few steps and back in front of the scoreboard. 3 all.
Aoki works the count to 3-2, slaps one to 2nd. 4-3, Grrrrriel advances to 3rd.
Springer (hitting .533 with 2 outs and RISP) HAMMERS A BALL TO DEEP LEFT, GONE! 5-3 Astros!

Springer (hitting .533 with 2 outs and RISP) HAMMERS A BALL TO DEEP LEFT, GONE! 5-3 Astros!

Springer's homer hit the Community Leaders sign at about 500 mph. Statcast says launch angle was 21 degrees. That's ridiculous.
Reddick slashes one to right that goes to the wall down the line. Reddick digging for 2nd, and heading for three. Schoop double clutches and Reddick is safe by a lot. 2 out triple! WOOOOOO!
Altuve smacks one up the middle for a single, Reddick walks home. 6-3 Astros! Astros with FOUR 2 out RBIs this inning.
Correa (who is hitting over .300 now after a single to start the inning) up, Ubaldo Jiminez tuning it up in the bullpen for the O's (who was sat today so Asher could start). TV guys saying that Morton will be out a few weeks at least. 3-1 count, Asher at 53 pitches. Count now full. 41 pitches in the 2nd for Asher. Correa slaps one down the 3rd base line, Machado makes a slick play to his right and makes it look easy, throwing across to get Correa by a step.

BUT! The damage is done, 6-3 Astros. End 2.

Top 3

Trumba Wumba grounds out 5-3. 1 down.
Davis good morning, good afternoon, good night on a FILTHY curveball that nipped the outside corner. 2 outs. Makes him 0-9 against Lance career, with 6 Ks (all on the curve).
Whatever slapdick (huehuehue) hits next lazily flies to Reddick in right. Easy inning for LMJ.

Mid 3. 6-3 Astros.

That slapdick was Wellington Castillo

Beltran leads off the inning and whacks a ball to right down the line. Beltran rounds first and gallumphing for 2, makes it easily as the throw is offline.  547 doubles in his career.
Caveman grounds to Machado on the backhand and Beltran idiotically is way too far off 2nd. Throws behind him to 2nd, and is out easily after a short rundown. That was fucking IDIOTIC. 1 out, Gattis on 1st.
Marwin works the count full, slaps one right back at the pitcher with Gattis on the move. Out at 2nd, on to first, out there. Hinch is taking a look to see if that should be challenged at 2nd. Gattis was safe on replay, and here comes the challenge.

Gattis was just barely in there. This replay is taking way too much time, which makes me nervous. After review, safe at 2nd.
Oh yeah, Ubaldo Jiminez started the inning. Forgot to mention that. His ERA is over 7.
Yuli up with Gattis on 2nd and 2 outs, slaps one up the middle for a single, Gattis rounds 3rd and will score without a throw! 7-3 Astros!
Aoki slashes on in to left center, Yuli goes 1st to 3rd. Aoki stretching to 2nd, just beats the throw! 2nd an 3rd, 2 outs for...
Springer at bat, pass ball through the wickets on Castillo, Gurriel scores and Aoki to 3rd.  8-3 Astros! They called it a wild pitch, but definitely should've been blocked. Springer boned by the HP ump on ball 4 3-0, Jiminez works the count full and gets Springer swinging.

End 3, 8-3 Astros.

Marwin works the count full, slaps one right back at the pitcher with Gattis on the move. Out at 2nd, on to first, out there. Hinch is taking a look to see if that should be challenged at 2nd. Gattis was safe on replay, and here comes the challenge.

Top 4
McCullers gets squeezed to start the 4rd, walks Kim.
Rickard down swinging chasing a curve. 1 out.
Janish hard grounder to Correa, 6-4-3.

Mid 4, 8-3 Astros

Reddick chases a ball out of the zone to strike out on a full count, 1 out.
Altuve pops right side, Davis lumbers back and hauls it in. 2 outs.
Correa lashes one to right for a single.
Beltran smacks down the first base line. Davis snags it on a hop or two and steps on 1st. Inning over.

End 4, 8-3 Astros.

Bottom 5

Jiminez still out there, facing...
Gattis towering pop up, Machado catches it in foul territory about 10 steps in from home. 1 out.
Marwin works the count full and smashes one back up the middle for a single, Rickard clanks it just barely off his glove, rolls just behind him and Marwin alertly takes 2nd.
Gurriel gets a fastball up and in, flinches out of the way. Kim is playing on the warning track again in the deep left center. Yuli chases a change up down, strike 3. 2 outs.
Aoki lunges backward on a low heater around his kneecaps. Jiminez is getting a little wild. Chases a breaking ball, Aoki down on a check swing called by the HP ump.

End 5 8-3 Astros

Bart Ennis creeps me the fuck out.
Trumbo walks. Runner on 1st, no outs.
Davis lazy fly to left center, Aoki hauls it in. 0-10 career against LMJ. 1 out.
Castillo slaps on to right for a single, 1st and 2nd.
Strom making a call to the pen in the dugout.
Kim flails wildly at a good curveball. Ponche! 2 outs.
Rickard grounds 5-4 to end the inning.
That's probably it for McCullers, who pitched a beast game after an ugly first few innings.

Mid 6, 8-3 Astros.

Sometimes Feliz makes me happy
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

When he keeps his breaking balls down and his fastballs up, he is dominant.

That was strong.  My buddy said beforehand "wasn't the Kentucky Derby a month ago?"
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Hoyt in the pitch.
Machado battles back from 1-2, with a full count looks at a slider on/around the inside corner for strike 3. He probably had a beef there. Looked a bit inside. But fuck him, he's a whiny bitch. 1 out.
Rumbo blasts one to right center, 15 rows deep. 8-4. Fuck the stupid Astros "fans" for pressuring people to throw back home runs. What a bunch of dickwads. Not a bad pitch, but a helluva swing.
Davis p-p-p-PONCHE swinging on a splitty down. 2 outs.
Hoyt rallies back from 3-0,  3-2 fly to right back back back back Reddick hauls it in at the wall.

Mid 8, 8-4 Astros.

Time for me to drop my PBP. Don't know if anyone's even watching/reading, but if so, someone else help them out!
