I thought he was clutching at the knee but perhaps a little higher?

Astros better kick it in gear if they are to win. With those beasts in the Yank pen this is a 7-inning game.

Well, let's see: can't count on Fiers, can't count on Fister, McHugh has been walking a tightrope, and we can't score when Keuchel pitches. Not a pretty picture.

Yes, from the left side. Not as much from the right.

Man, Gattis threw a strike there.

I don't see where the team loses anything defensively when he catches and his hitting playing the field versus DHing is so much better that I would play him all the time, four games out of five. He would not be the first player not to be terribly comfortable DHing.

Yes, from the left side. Not as much from the right.

I saw the clip just now of him hitting from the right side and it looked like an uppercut. I asked mainly hoping to reopen old wounds but I do appreciate the honest feedback. I'm too young to have seen him play.

Another jack for Gattis. He's definitely making his argument for taking over the catching spot.

They flipped the negative.  Maybe he did uppercut from both sides. I didn't see him play that much relegated to the Game of the Week which they were on about half of the time. It was the last couple years of his career and he was clearly hobbled. I didn't see him hit from the right side all that much.

If Valbuena is really down for a while and Bregman isn't ready yet, this offense is going to implode like a dying star...

Solo home runs when down by 5 and 4 runs are the OTPHJs of baseball fandom.

What's the report on Valbuena or are we just quickly transitioning to unfounded pessimism?

They said strained hammy, currently day-to-day but that may change.  Not sure they can get by with a short bench for long so he may go to the DL, but who knows at this point.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Bregman's swing really does look compact and quick.

Castro watches the hanging slider that could have caused real problems for the Yankees.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I jumped straight to the Rays game, a bonus to hear Scully calling the game.
